This one looks more likely now than Pogba I reckon. Will be a happy bunny if Txiki pulls this off. We already have goals galore in the team and he would ramp it up another notch. Another entry in the 100 club is on the cards

Prevailing theory seems to be...City need to ship some guys out before they can bring him in. Maybe with Jovetic's move being finalized we'll see some movement here.

Sounds like its all down to the player to agree terms before the clubs do business. A bit of a stand off going on me thinks, and who will get the sign on bonus

Dzeko doesn't seem to want to move anywhere in a hurry either .

Everything suggests Dzeko is very keen on a move to Roma and that the Club are happy to sell him but there's a stand off on the fee. City want upwards of 20 million pounds. May get another extended loan with obligation to buy to sort this out. If we really were prepared to pay huge sums for Pogba I would have thought we could clinch the de Bruyne transfer without completing the sale of Dzeko but who knows. Pellegrini recently hinted we would play things long. He also suggested we might still bring in more than one player.

Well his training injury doesnt appear to have been a big deal as hes playing in the Super Cup.

Just missed an open goal from the edge of the box

I'm not sure what game City are playing here. Dzeko is nearly done according even to Sky. We seem to be playing it very long but why that could improve our chances I'm not sure.

Just a daft thought, but I wonder if our owners have decided to write this coming season off ??

They could be "lightening the load" by getting shut of certain 'problem' players, preparatory to bringing in a few youngsters for this new campaign and, all the while, awaiting the new Manager for the season after that - whomsoever he may be ??

On that basis, any sort of 'success' achieved in the interim would be a bonus.

As I said, just a daft thought.

That thought is less and less daft as the days tick by. But, I can't see it as we will find it hard to attract a top manager and players next year if we miss out on the top 4.

I've just read your post on the other thread; we're either great minds together, or a couple of fools who never differ !!??

My own answer to the question you posed is that I wouldn't mind a relatively unsuccessful season, provided we introduced a decent number of youngsters throughout and continued to play some promising and stylish football, which I'm sure would be more than possible.

Whatever the final outcome of the transfer window, I'm more and more of a mind that we won't be signing any more 'big' players. If we do sign any more, I feel they will be youngsters and for only a modest outlay.
