Odds slashed to 1/4 him coming to us & Express say Txiki has delayed flight to Oz to hopefully finish deal................

(Couldn't see a thread specifically & thought this now deserved its own thread)

Shock update as odds slashed on £60m Man City deal for Man Utd target and Chelsea flop

The Manchester Evening News claim City are "homing in" on the Wolfsburg star, with the German club demanding £60million.

Meanwhile, Sky Bet have now slashed odds on a City transfer to 1/4.

The club's football director, Txiki Begiristain, is reported to have delayed a flight bound for the club's pre-season tour to continue negotiations for the Belgium international.

De Bruyne has also been linked with a move to Manchester United but City appear to be at the front of the queue.

Following a difficult spell at Chelsea, the 24-year-old has become one of Europe's hottest properties after rebuilding his reputation since a permanent switch to Wolfsburg last summer.

Manchester City are understood to be closer than ever to a deal for Kevin De Bruyne
He scored 13 goals in 50 appearances in all competitions last season, helping his side to a second-place Bundesliga finish and the German Cup.

City boss Manuel Pellegrini shows no sign of halting his summer spending spree after securing the services of Raheem Sterling for £49million.

They have also been linked with a £71m bid for Paul Pogba.

Seems Credible enough for me to start thinking this is actually going to happen?

thought dzeko was roma bound but that seems to have cooled. personally i cant wait to see the back of him. he's been a fucking boat anchor for far too long.

I have doubts about de Bruyne. Especially for the reported £60 million.
I thought the price tag for Sterling was steep, but that can be blamed on the English player inflation. 60 million is what you pay for world class players, and imo the brown one still has a lot to prove.

That said, he'll obviously get my full support if he signs.

Think Dzeko to Roma would have happened by now ? can see him going back to Wolfsburg as part of the deal as £50 million being touted , surely Dzeko,s price tag would be £16-18 million .

Interesting. Especially considering how vocal Wolfsburg's manager and director have been recently about Kevin not leaving during this window

Hmm,

It seems we might have a huge card on our pocket. Rumour has it that we are playing the De Bruyne card, however, we are keeping a real eye on Reus.

65 mil is the offer we about to pay for him, 5 more than for De Bruyne. Scouse are after him too.

I don't follow the Bundesliga enough to know which I'd prefer if we could choose.

Can some "former Nazis"/ English Royal family relatives on here please comment and set me straight about ze players?

Danke

Expect this one to gather pace over the next few days, but 60 million (is anyone surprised at these figures any more!), surely there will have to be a make weight in that deal. See ya Ed.

Mirror says opening offer likely to be 40 million pounds but City prepared to go 'much higher' to get him. How the fuck do they know? We're not going to broadcast our negotiating position to anyone. I think the reason for the stories is that Wolfsburg say they won't stop him going if they get a really good offer. That's pretty much running up the white flag so it does look like its a matter of negotiations now. Since it looks very unlikely we'll get Pogba there's more scope to spend big on De Bruyne I suppose.

Does anyone know who bets on players signing for clubs?

If you know someone is signing, you must have insider info so why would bookies allow it. And if you didn't know, why the fuck would you bet on a bullshit rumour in a paper?

Mail say Wolfsburg want 50 million. A lot is being made of Txiki staying in Europe rather than joining the tour in Australia.

Excellent suggestion with, for my money, much merit in such a thought.

I dont profess to know about bookies. I would imagine they have their own experts with their ear to the ground to ensure they don't get caught out financially?
