I thought that myself when I saw the details of the game.

Pulis seemed very pleased with him, especially as he has gone to WBA on a lot less money than at ScouseScum and, although it was only a friendly, he might turn out to be an astute signing for them, which would be more egg on Bodger's face.

I just saw one of the goals he scored last night and it wasn't a scrappy, aerial, route one affair but quite a nice build up on the left, with the ball being played in low and Lambert quickly on it in the box to provide a smart finish.

It could be interesting to watch his progress this season.

Mikhail, City's bigger concern will be to make sure that Rickie Lambert doesn't repeat those types of goals, in their opening match of the season, with West Brom! Many recent transfers are scoring on their debuts, to desperately prove their worth, to their new teams (i.e, Lambert, Boyata, Milner, Sterling, etc) Yes, it will be interesting to see, if these early goalscorers continue to score.

I hope City get off to a flying start, against West Brom. I've always disliked Pulis, ever since he said it was perfectly OK for his team to benefit from wrong ref calls, especially if it meant punishing City!

Connor Wickham to Palace.
Might have to change my Fantasy team again. I had Chelsea loanee, Patrick Bamford as a joker in my team, but I doubt he will get much game time now. My guess is that both Wickham and Murray will be ahead of him in the pecking order.

In the Sun Real have disclosed that van Gaal made two bids of 100 million pounds for Bale. Turned down twice by Florentino Perez.

Butthead is obviously trying to buy the League, but no-one will consider saying anything critical about it.

The cynic in me would suggest it was window shopping purely to drive season ticket sales. Made in the knowledge it wouldn't be accepted but it gets the fans giddy. They did the same last year with Ronaldo

I think Bamford will be leading the line for them actually. Good player and has had a decent pre season.

I can't look past Sakho in that price range tbh. And if you can't stretch to 6.5, I think I'd rather prefer Deeney or Wilson, whose places are more guaranteed and who have much kinder early fixtures. Cheaper than Bamford as well.

Bournemouth just signed a French striker, so Wilson might not be their main man this season ...

Good point, even though Gradel is more of a winger.

Seems to be a bit of a scrap for Adama Traore from the Barca academy. Dippers supposedly interested and now Villa trying to muscle in. 19 year old winger with great pace. Highly rated. I guess we've just bought Patrick Roberts.

Changer my mind again ;-)

Keepers: Schmeichel, Adrián
Defenders: Ivanovic, Azpilicueta, Clyne, Ward, Distin
Midfielders: Sterling, Ki Sung-yueng, Silva, Fàbregas, Behrami
Forwards: Diouf, Aguero, Wilson (Bournemouth)

I'm reasonably happy with my team, but I probably end up changing it 10 times before kick-off on Saturday anyway. I feel I might have splashed a bit too much cash on the defenders, which could probably be better spent on a more expensive second striker.

Sky Italia say complete agreement on transfer fee for Dzeko to Roma. Personal terms pretty well sorted out so its just a question of the medical now.

De Gea not playing tomorrow. This can't last. Scum said to be interested in the Ajax goalkeeper.
