I see tottenham have "secured a Europa League place". More spin than John Emburey.

Got as far as "the Pep Guardiola love-in is officially over."

"Officially" ?

What a crock of shite.

Was just going to post exactly the same thing. Some of the back pages appear to show pics of Spuds winning the CL???

The City version would have been - "Megabucks City fail to qualify from their CL group again and are dumped into the second tier European competition"

Thanks for that Tokyo.

Some of the parallels with City are eerily striking, especially the "most hated team in Germany" nomination and the claim that Leipzig are only a tool for the promotion of Red Bull.

These establishment outfits don't like it when a new team comes along to upset their comfortable gravy train arrangements.

We ought to form some sort of strategic alliance with Leipzig.

In fairness, Leipzig were founded in 2009, so it's true enough that they don't have a great deal of istree.

This still makes me laugh after all these years, and TBH isn't that much of an exaggeration of the way the media constantly try to portray City.

Fucking what????

As a season ticket holder at a German team, we really do not want to become RB Leipzig!!

To do that, we'd need to be a combination of MK Dons, the Harlem globetrotters and the Qatar world cup bid.

Is there some rule or moral code against starting a new club that I am not aware of?

mk dons are shithouses for not starting at the bottom when they should have done. I see that one.

Qatar's world cup bid, like that of the oh-so-squeaky-clean germans you seem to love so much, was well dodgy. I see that as well.

RB started at the bottom and have come up through the divisions, all fair and above board. Well, as above board as you can get in that country, where even the kaiser is throwing bribes around.

The Dortmund chairman sounds like a bit of a self-righteous cock-end, who seems to think certain clubs have a divine right to not be challenged. Which sounds oddly familiar.

They didn't start at the bottom mate. They took over a village team, changed everything and moved them.

They've also circumvented German membership rules in a very cynical way, for the advantage of Red Bull Corp.

Dortmund chairman's a bit of a knob though.

To clarify, they're not strongly disliked because of cash.
