osep Maria Bartomeu won re-election as president of Barcelona on Saturday.

Bartomeu won 54.63 percent of the vote, a comfortable advantage over rivals Joan Laporta (33.03 percent), Agusti Benedito (7.16) and Toni Freixa (3.70)

The 52-year-old Bartomeu took over the presidency in January 2014 after predecessor Sandro Rosell resigned. He will control the reigning Spanish and European champions for the next six years.

Barcelona are owned by more than 150,000 members, who elect the president.

Barcelona's success last season -- they won the Champions League, La Liga and Copa del Rey while record a record €608 million profit -- meant Bartomeu was likely to retain his spot.

"We must continue to be the number one club and these six years are very important," Bartomeu said after casting his vote on Saturday morning.

€608m profit? Turnover, surely?

Is the new guy a fan of Pogba and if not are we now in pole position?

Laporta pushed the signing as his number one priority. That doesn't mean that Bartomeu won't buy him next year but there's not the same intensity of ambition on the face of it. The odds are still that Pogba will stay at Juve for another year but the door is a little ajar if City are really determined to go for a blockbuster offer. No point in shilly shallying. Either go for it big time or move on.

I don't think he appreciated Raiola saying Pogba will have a better chance going to Barca if Laporta wins. I'm not sure he'll deal with him.

Sod Pogba. Didn't Messi align himself with Laporta?

Duncan Castles says Pogba has made it clear he's not interested in going to City or the scum and that he wants a move to Barca. He also suggests a sale and loan back to Juve is in the works which is not possible. One way or another I suspect he will be at the Nou Camp next season.

Well let barca have him for however much f*cling money, anything over 50m is simply too much. I really don't get all the hype over him I have to say.

Anything less than 75m is a deal.

He will rip up Spain. Trophies all over.
