u21 euros

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

He's "only" scored twice so far and at least one of the goals was a penalty (can't remember the first goal).

The Swedes are through to the final because they got the group working as a team, because of some brilliant coaching, and because the top nations had several stars otherwise engaged.

Guidetti will be a good player in the Dutch league or perhaps the German at a push, but he lacks the pace and that little bit extra to become a top player.

Guidetti has simply been a victim of really terrible, unfortunate timing imo.

He went to Holland & did everything right, was nailed on for an opportunity at City, then picked up that weird fucking illness which debilitated him & took a year out of his career. Then he suffered injuries coming back & slipped further down the list.

Then he went to Celtic & was a sensation, but when he wouldn't commit to joining them, they dropped him & he's struggled to get regular games/form since.

Now it seems as if he is embarking on another attempt at rebuilding his career.

He does seem a bit of a tosser, but so are many footballers, & iif not for bad luck, he would be at least as good as Wellbeck or Ings or Charlie Austin imo & possibly a lot better. He is a true goalscorer.

I find it difficult to guage his fitness level these days, but if you watch any team he plays in attacking, Guidetti will get himself into a potential goalscoring position where quite often, they could find him.

I still wouldn't rule out him turning up in the Prem, but it depends on his fitness.

One thing is for sure; if he doesn't make it, then it won't be down to a lack of hard work. The lad has busted his balls to try & get to the top.

Good luck to him.

Sweden are being played off the pitch so far in the final. The Portuguese are so much more composed and quite frankly technically superior.

But if stays 0-0 a while longer we are still got a shot. Counter attacking suits this Swedish team.

Sweden were certainly equals in the second half and look like the stronger team going into the second half of extra time.

Totally agree. With hindsight they just looked nervous as hell the first 20 minutes.

Guidetti could have scored the goal of the tournament, but hit it a little bit too high.

Yes, it's only U21, but this is huge for Swedish football.

Congratulations to Sweden.

A compellingly stentorian achievement.
