Bony wont be playing either

Read something last week that said Yaya is considering coming out of international retirement next year. For fucks sake, why????

He didn't retire. He just asked to not be included in the squad, as far as I understand.

What happened to cutting down the international breaks to 9 every 2 years? We've had 3 in 3 months, are they going to portion out the next 6 over 21 months? Are we English in the minority in wanting international friendly breaks to fuck off?

This isn't a international friendly break for most federations. CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, CAF and AFC are playing World Cup qualifiers.

It really is rather annoying. I doubt English or Premier League fans are alone, when this is the middle of the season for most leagues.

There are just too many qualifiers. I can hardly believe we are already having World Cup Qualifiers 3 years away from the competition. I guess there are so many nations in each region, that this is what happen, but they could make some of them 2 leg playoffs by all teams that did not qualify for either the final qualifying group or maybe those who did not make the World Cup last time, which would be far more interesting. Problem is there is lot of money to be made by someone and their FIFA cronies. That's pretty much what this is about primarily if you ask me.

I think the Euros should be the qualifiers for the World Cup, halve the games right there.

Something like that truly needs to happen.

It's insanity. Everyone hates it but the select FAs making a wedge, the corrupt FIFA execs getting the bungs and the agents who bully nations into side deals and payments so they can get their chunk too.

I'd love it if the World Cup was like a knockout competition proper and it started a year and a half in advance of the final 32 and gave the highest ranking clubs based on the last comp the seeding advantage. Be way way more fun for everyone and get some truly crazy matchups.

Someone needs to blow up intl footy and do something as its ruining club football.

Cheers

3 explosions and gunmen with Kalashnikovs shooting into restaurant, RTE is reporting. Also reported 18 dead.

Just heard about it myself, I'm trying to find more info. Looks like shootings in 'Paris' and 'explosions' near the stadium. Possible hostages reported too.

Just stated that 26 are dead, so far, but we'll away from the football.

I don't blame them, I'd be terrified. It's sounding like three co-ordinated attacks with at least one hostage situation ongoing.

Death toll rising. 40 now. Plus over 100 hostages at a nightclub which won't end well.

Truly shocking stuff
