Denayer, Iheanacho and Lopes to be promoted

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Perhaps my post should read: let's get him experience for a position that we hope to play him in, and a position that we've just freed up in the first team squad.

So let's clarify.

I say that if he settles into the first team quicky & can play regularly then there is no problem. But if he can't, then rather than drop him and leave him stranded, like Boyata, we should consider trying to get him into the team in another position.

You are pulling me up on this. Can you expla8n exactly what the fuck it is you are disagreeing with ?

You want him keeping in the team if he's struggling like fuck & costing us points ? You want him keeping on the bench rather than brought back in at fullback ?

What ?

I've no fucking idea what you are disagreeing with.

'Cover for fullback' implies intent to play him there - I would suggest Boyata (who it increasingly looks like Denayer is replacing in the first team) was at best third choice rightback, at worst fourth even fifth choice. I would repeat that it would be crazy to intend to play someone in a position he has no first team experience of at senior level until he is familiar with the league and the squad. Try spinning my words any way you want, this is what I've been saying since your first post about it.

I'm not sure I agree it would be crazy. Many players do that. The talented ones usually don't struggle at all. All part of their education as footballers

So basically you are just saying what I've said & don't disagree with what I posted at all.

And twosips is right, it wouldn't do any harm at all even if they did decide to play him there first. But that isn't what I was advocating anyway.

You say so fucking many things in one wall of text it's difficult to keep up. IF he plays 20 games (maybe not even that many) then no problem - IF he is supposed to make his debut match start in the Premier League as a fullback then it would be crazy. It would also be crazy to expect him to be second choice rightback.
And for the record YOU were agreeing with my first post on the subject mister revisionist.

No, I posted that I thought he should also be considered as cover for right back, using the example of how he closed down Gareth Bale in that position whilst discussing his performance v Wales. I wasn't reypling to anything you said & can't see anything there to reply to, having looked at it now.

Then I clarified after you criticised my post that I was purely meaning if he can't get into the team at cb. Then I keep clarifying it as you keep repeating the same thing.

I didn't understand what it was you were disagreeing with & it appears there is nothing.

Your original post finished:
I strongly believe Denayer should also be considered as cover for the right back position.

To which my reply included;
We would be crazy to play him anywhere other than central defence until he is used to the Premier League and the first team.

Your wall of text then included something agreeing with my point, plus an entire essay worth of various other gubbins.

So for one last fucking time - for Denayer to be considered for rightback before he plays for us in central defence, it means one of two things, either the Chairman was lying when he said there would be no compromise of the first team and we haven't got two specialist first choice rightbacks battling it out for contention (plus Clichy) to play ahead of a rookie with no senior first team fullback experience - OR it means there's an early injury crisis and we need to call upon the services of a fourth choice rightback. Now go and consult with Twosips before getting the last word in. I'll give you as long as you need.

So you repllied to my post regarding Denayer. And I committed the crime of clarifying exactly what I meant, even giving examples of the kind of possible circumstances I thought it could happen. You seem to be offended by it & even dragging twosips into it because he has an opinion. No idea why you pushed this argument on when I explained it pretty clearly.

Anyhow, I think Denayer may possibly be better than Zaba or Sagna at right back if he does get asked to play there. I also think there's a chance he may not end up as a cb.

Hope that doesn't offend you but it's my opinion.

I dont care where he plays at the back , just so long as Kompany is benched and only comes on when everyone else is dead.

I actually give CB,s time to settle in , I gave Lescott and Kompany plenty of time before I lost it.....and I was right about both of them , also Dunne got it in the end as he became a liability.

Name me one fuckign time, over the last 10 years, I have given shit to any other CB we have had and show me the fuckign proof!?.
