Denayer, Iheanacho and Lopes to be promoted

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Denayer, Iheanacho and Lopes to be promoted

Postby twosips » Thu Jun 04, 2015 5:39 pm

According to the Telegraph.

It's happening, ladies and gents....

I fucking hope so. Watch the floodgates open over the next few years if so.

State of the sub-heading in this ^ So bitter that it actually hurts.

That is exciting news if it happens, and there's no reason why it shouldn't.

In terms of reporting, they even cock their headline up by quoting Wright instead of Lampard as one of the home-grown leaving. Does no one proof-read these things?

If we can get 3 a year promoted to the first team that's an astonishing result from the academy

Good stuff. They should and hopefully will get starting first team places in the early cup games. Hope they aren't just stuck warming the bench and we get to see these lads play!

Honestly feel that at least two of them will get a proper go next year, and then they'll be the ones that open the floodgates for the rest and it'll become the norm like it is at Barca etc. Our academy is THAT good and we're absolutely bursting at the seams with talent when you go back through the age groups.

So excited by it all.

Nigeria should qualify for the knockout stages of the Under 20 World Cup and if so I will get a chance to see Iheanacho in person. He was left on the bench for the 4 nil win over Korea which was strange. Hopefully just being rested.

Thanks for the news Two Sips. We're all very pleased I'm sure. Personally I think Maffeo and Barker are also pretty close but maybe the Club has other plans for their development. Looking forward to more of your excellent reports on the EDS and U18s next season!

Easy does it. I can see them playing a bit part next year unless we have major injuries like this season. Lets bed them in nice and gentle. Shame none of the 3 are English, it would have been a rocket up Dykes arse.

Bring on barker or facey next. I wonder why no mention of cole, fofana or hiwula. Maybe its another loan or bye bye

Re English lads its Gunn, Boadu, Barker and Bryan that look the most likely soon for me. Who knows, maybe Evans will get a go soon after his exploits?

Call me a cynic but i dont see them getting much time. Maybe some in the early cup games, especially Denayer. Unless we lose a striker (injury or transfer) i cant Nacho playing much of a part.

I hope im wrong though.

L'Equipe are linking Fofana with a loan move to Sunderland, Baggies and Marseille amongst others.

With regards Ian Nancho he will get one game dues to injury and he will bag a hat trick and Pellers will have to play him. He will go on to be massive at this club. Keirs said so before he came. In LAHAD I trust!

I actually don't think Facey will make it at City tbh, but then again i've not seen anything of him at NYCFC so who knows. Tosin and Humphries are both english CBs, and both class but still dead young.

Denayer should replace Kompany immediately.
