for everyone's bitching and moaning, mine included at times of course, this is a big big fucking deal. If any of them does anything significant next season then it's more than any other top flight clubs are doing other than Barca.

We might actually be the English Barca now. Fuck you Soccs. How do you like them apples?

cheers

What has poor old Socs done to merit an 'out of the blue' comment of such an acetic nature. In all fairness, he hasn't posted very much of late.

Are you sure you've not been putting too much vinegar on your chips ??

The bit I don't get it is how he's going to feel bad, if he's wrong then we have three new stars from our own academy in the first team. Bet he'll be cursing and muttering when Nacho knocks in the winner in the CL final.

We had some debate about how I wanted us to be the English equivalent of Barca but not an actual imitation Barca a few dozen moons ago, I think this may be what he is referring to. Whatever, I look on with pleasure at our rosy garden with lots of green shoots from the stunning academy investment :)

He should be feeling nothing but absolute joy, but knowing him he may find a dark space to hide in for a moment.

I would seem, Socs old chum, that Doomie might have actually been either complimenting or praising you, in his own inimitable way.

On that basis and if that's the case, apologies Doomie for misconstruing what you were referring to.

2-0 Belgium at half-time. Fellaini with both.

Denayer has been fucking class. Seriously. Strolled out of defence exceptionally a few times and always in the right place. Calm, composed, strong and fast and just great on the ball. Unbelievable considering its his full debut....at the Stade de France against such quality opposition. What a player.

Bog brush gets a second. Two sips is right. The confidence of Wilmots in Denayer is very striking. I think MDM will be number four in the pecking order next season and Vinny and Mangala better watch out for their places. We look like we've got a diamond. Just the start hopefully. A more sustainable model long term. Very holistic!

Commentator says of Denayer old head on young shoulders. Celtic have done him the world of good. Christ knows what's he's worth already but whatever it is it's nowhere near enough. He's not for sale.

Wish i knew about this friendly earlier so i couldve watched Denayer.

Belgium's other youngster Tielemans is one we should be interested in. Buy and loan out, like Chelsea.

The huge fucking hole which appeared in Belgium's defence when Denayer went off, said it all really.

The only question about him in that position is aerially, as the Premier League is unique in the different sets of problems it presents. Belgium have sussed that & they left him on the edge of the box for corners, & used the big men to form the defensive line.

But he is better than any of our defenders as a footballer, & is a better footballer than DeJong or Fernando or probably Gareth Barry. He could learn to play anywhere in the back half.

If he signed for Barca tomorrow, then by this time next year, he would be playing every game next to Piquet & Mascherano would be on the bench.

He could do Zabba, Sagna's job tomorrow, or Fernando's. The only question is how he cpes with people like Pulis pressuring him in the air if he plays cb.
