..and Falcao...although its mainly "scum pass on signing Falcao"
he wasnt a flop then, right.

A bargain at only 265,000 pounds a week. Superb signing.

Alternatively, bringing him in on loan has probably saved them upwards of 60m over the next few years and shafted Monaco in the process.

I'm sure the rumours last summer that whilst united wanted a loan deal, we wanted to sign him permanently - in which case who are the real mugs?

Or alternatively 9 months at 265,000 a week that we did not pay and they did. Over ten million quid of their money up the swanny.

Rumours are rumours. Rumours also said we were signing Jay Rodriguez in January and Pellegrini wouldn't last the season.

Either way, I'm glad we dodged the bullet.

I never really watched him for the rags.....was he just in a shit side and not played to his strengths, or is he genuinely finished as a top player? It would be a remarkable fall from grace if he's finished, but a great story if he bangs them in next season and sticks two fingers up and Van Ghoul

I think im in the minority but i will still have him at city (obviously on hugely slashed wages, fee etc). I still reckon theres goals there.

To be fair, I thought it was a cracking signing when they got him. I saw him a bit back for Monaco and thought he was really good.

Not sure he'd suit our style any more than he'd suit their kick-and-rush to be honest.

I don't think he was a flop. I think he was not fit and was not a player that Van 4th wanted. If you ask me, Falcao would had been really good under Pellegrini, if and i say it again, he was fit.

The guy is class, he was at Madrid the best striker in the world and one of the top forwards before his injury. I would sign him, but maybe for just 15 mil.

Sadly, we are not in the position to judge when our best transfer was Lampard and we spent a shitload of money to bring questionable players here.

Did you add 6MM loan fee ? I think its more like 4 MM for goal. Whenever I come across a poll which says if Falcao was worth it, I go and vote yes. For me this was one of the best signings of season, it made me really happy.

From what I remember at athleti he would come deep for the ball and was better with the ball at his feet than you might guess. He'd be worth a punt for someone because he hasn't done a Torres IMHO.

Cheers

He was a shadow of the player he was at Atletico, and this is hardly the league you want to be in if you've got a dodgy knee.

Might do well elsewhere, might retire in 12 months. Would bet on the latter he stuck around in England.

Me too but as you say, on vastly, VASTLY reduced wages. I think he' possibly lost half a yard but that's hard to say. The rest is just lack of match sharpness & not suiting their style imo.

When Navas came on & knocked the ball into the near post area on Sunday, Falcao would have been flicking it into an empty net, like Remy keeps doing for Chelsea. Would have done ok for us imo. And work hard pressing too.

Wouldn't be surprised if he ended up at Chelsea this summer.

The scum will have done someone a big favour and it cost them a lot of money. I have no doubt he will be a big success at wherever he ends up next season to show up how badly they sued him this season. Chelsea sounds a decent possibility although I think somewhere outside the prem is more likely.

Yes, cant see him playing here...possibly back to Porto where he'll score a hatful then get a move to a bigger league again. It couldnt have done his knees any good playing on that bad pitch at monaco either. I remember hearing how its a drop in pitch and not ideal. Unless they changed it since..
