It is quite cruel that after that fantastic career he has had the first thing that comes to my mind when someone mentions Gerrard is that slip.

If the dippers didn't big him up so much, I'd afford him more respect.

My memory of him is the class he showed when he interrupted Mancios press conference two years ago. Or was it three?

What happened to the Stoke defender for Stevie Me's goal yesterday? He just stopped running "...after you sir." Very bizarre.

I noticed that, he just stopped, looked like he pulled his hamstring?

Sorry but I can't buy into it at all. He's a reasonable player, he's won a European Cup but so have Traore, Baros, Smicer, Kewell, Hamann and several other very average players. He's a good english player but he's not and never has been world class. Factor in that if his mrs had not allegedly been shagging drug dealers then he'd have been a Chelsea player yesterday.

I thought it must be an injury too but I don't know if it was or if he was subbed.

I somehow didn't think he was going to get a lot of appreciation in this thread.

How common knowledge is that? I've never seen it mentioned on any forum before, but have heard it from 'friends of sources at the club'.

I think it's one of them stories most people have heard and many if not most in Liverpool even accept as fact.

Of course there's no way of knowing whether there's a grain of truth in it

I bet his freinds called round to his house on Sunday night to find the door wide open & tyre marks on the driveway " Hi Steve, are you there ? Just come to wish you.......Steve ? " empty house with a few bits of that stuff you put in packing crates, half drunk cup of coffee & an empty tube of false tan.

Starting to feel a lot bit sorry for him (just a little). Every time he gets the big SKY build up there's some enormous fuck-up. I bet he felt a right cunt on Sunday.
