Staying to Applaud SWP, Dunney and Ned on Sunday

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Staying to Applaud SWP, Dunney and Ned on Sunday

Postby Wonderwall » Fri May 08, 2015 3:03 pm

Its odds on with the bookies that QPR are going to be relegated this weekend, I think the ex blues and the QPR fans should get a bit of respect and a good applause at the end of the game on Sunday. The QPR Fans were great during our 2012 triumph.

Smart money says a polite clap at PA announcements and half the stadium gone by final whistle.

It's not what I'd do, but it's not worth the arguments it causes on here.

What's the argument? People do what they choose for their own reasons. I get to so few football matches that I arrive as early as possible and stay as late as possible to soak it all in....no matter how we do.

But if I had to leave in the 90th minute for any reason I deemed reasonable then it's no one else's fucking business to tell me I'm wrong.

It's an overblown issue I feel. I go to any sporting even anywhere and there's always a small contingent of early leavers. Whatevs.

Cheers

Aren't there supposed to be loads of financial ramifications for QPR if they go down? I've been looking for something on the current situation in the press over the past couple of weeks, but haven't seen anything...

What's miles worse than going early, is standing on the concourse at HT sipping coffee, missing a goal and falling over.

He stayed on the concourse while the game restarted and Yaya scored a worldly. Apologies if that was unclear.

Tbf I was holding someone's hot chocolate and trapped in a Higginbottom family reunion. What human could escape those clutches?

And just for the record I missed them both and not just one.

The contracts of a dozen, or more, of their better/best, higher profile squad players all run out together this summer.

After these, they've hardly got any others left of any quality and who might command a fee to defray the cost of rebuilding the side, so there'll be an almighty exodus this summer, with minimal cash coming in to buy new players for the Championship.

Although the wage bill will dramatically reduce because of this exodus, by all accounts they've got sizeable debts to confront and their 'parachute' payments will only go so far.

On the face of it, it's not inconceivable that, next season, they could be relegated again (down into League 1) and, if so, I think 'Arry Twitcher must take some of the responsibility for wasting and needlessly squandering a lot of the money that the owner made available to him.

It's not impossible that they might almost become another Portsmouth, if they're not careful.
