I thought the first half was really enjoyable as it was end-to-end stuff, with Sevilla rather fortunate to be leading 1-0 at the interval.
At the start of the second half, Micah came on and after nearly 70 minutes, Pizzaro also came on, so there was a bit of a City connection in the Fiorentina ranks for the latter part of the game.
The second half was somewhat scrappy with Sevilla largely playing on the break and cashing in on some Fiorentina mistakes at the back.
Seeing Savic perform, I thought of Ted (I wonder if he was watching ??) and all the valid criticisms he directed at that player. Unfortunately, or not, Savic doesn't seem to have either changed or improved and exhibited all the faults we saw of him in a City shirt.
Micah's display was also very disappointing as, too often, he seemed to get caught continually out of position. We didn't see any of his characteristically rampaging runs (although his team mates didn't seem to want to pass to him overmuch) and when he did go upfield and the move broke down, he just seemed to saunter back in totally unconcerned fashion.
All in all, he looked very poor and Pizzaro also happened to be fairly anonymous when he came on, being unable to influence an albeit lost game by that time.
Interesting game though and Fiorentina have a most difficult task in trying to turn round that result in the second leg.

Maybe my eyes are going. Or my internet connection!
So that's a good result for us.
