The new third kit is meant to be a tribute to the 1999 kit, with a special nod to the Gillingham match, that helped to create City's future. The neon colour is also supposed to make the City players particularly stand out, while under the floodlights of a night game... Maybe it's an extra guiding light, so players can find each other, when they pass the ball?
I think it would have looked nicer in neon sky blue, instead.

This new 3rd kit will be debuted during the League Cup match against Sunderland, on Sept. 22nd. Here are some more details:

Fuchsia pink boots combined with any colour football kit would look ridiculous! It's not a colour boot that any professional footballer should be wearing. I'm sure the footballers can request custom colours, instead.

The Nike Mercurial designers were probably thinking, "These paid footballers are making many millions more than we are... Let's have a laugh & see if we can get away with making them look Pretty (Funny) In Pink "

I also wanted to reassure Wonderwall that he and his daughter are both technically correct. The official Wimbledon Slazenger tennis ball is actually Chartreuse Yellow, which is a combination of light yellow and green. This new City 3rd kit is closer to Canary Green in shade though.

I feel blinded after looking at that monstrosity. Thank God it's an away cup kit only. I think I would throw up watching the team run around in that with the bright pink Vitality advertisement in the background.

I would simply wait for the next big sale on the official club store website... If you're not already on their email list, I would join, so you receive all the sale alerts. Last year, the Christmas holiday sale started at the beginning of November.

You can also expect sales for all the special events like the Manchester derby, on October 25th... Especially if City win again! Last year, the store also offered sales for the League Cup & CL matches.
