The new third kit is meant to be a tribute to the 1999 kit, with a special nod to the Gillingham match, that helped to create City's future. The neon colour is also supposed to make the City players particularly stand out, while under the floodlights of a night game... Maybe it's an extra guiding light, so players can find each other, when they pass the ball?
I think it would have looked nicer in neon sky blue, instead.

Call me old fashioned but the template should be home kit - sky blue and white. A bit of maroon trim acceptable. None of this dark blue business. Away kit - black and red, white or maroon. 3rd kit - avoid the colours of anything that grows on trees and silver.

You're absolutely right... In fact, I'm not sure that shade of neon light green would actually suit anyone!

It's certainly not helped by the dainty fuchsia pink boots that so many of the players are currently wearing. Whichever mercurial Nike designer came up with that colour for men's football boots, should have their head examined!

Well I'm happy to buck the trend. I love it and these are definitely the best set of kits that Nike have done for us so far. The blue away with the neon blue is stunning.

I would simply wait for the next big sale on the official club store website... If you're not already on their email list, I would join, so you receive all the sale alerts. Last year, the Christmas holiday sale started at the beginning of November.

You can also expect sales for all the special events like the Manchester derby, on October 25th... Especially if City win again! Last year, the store also offered sales for the League Cup & CL matches.
