I'm sure Brenda can use one of Peggy Spencers formations.

just a point of curiosity...

why is it do we not really employ 4-3-3?

we seem to have the right/enough players, no?

zaba/sagna and kola/clichy do like going forward.

yaya as the #6. fernandinho + fernando/milner as hard working midfielders.

is it our lack of wide forward types?

silva and nasri couldn't be our wide "forwards?"

i guess one issue is some of our players just do not put in the effort on a consistent enough basis?

Why are people so keen to drop dzeko when he's playing his best footy of te season?

I agree that Dzeko's playing a blinder, at the moment, so deserves his place if measured by recent performances - but I feel that he doesn't close down well enough to deal with the usual Liverpool onslaught that we'll be obliged to endure in the first 30 minutes before they run out of steam.
Mirror reporting Bony injured so I'd slot Jovetic in behind Aguero for the first 30 and then give Edin the rest of the game. If Pellers puts him on from the bench it'll be on 60 minutes though.

He's played two games this week, the other choice is to drop Aguero. We have squad depth for a reason.

Pellegrini has a philosophy and is stubborn.

I think 4-3-3 is perfect for the players we have, limits the scope of Fernando's job, allows Yaya to push up behind the striker.

And who would play upfront, specifically the wings?

I've no doubting he's a really good player but it struck me how much it's clearly not his style to run about during the Barca game. Aguero doesn't either really, and im a bit disappointed as i like the high pressing game which i dont think we'll do now.

I noticed this during the Barca game, pissed me right off

You could actually play Silva & Nasri there, but they are not ideal for the job. But it would depend on the opposition. In a game like today, Silva & Nasri as part of a 4-3-3 would probably be a good choice, as both put in an ok shift for creative players, but would not be absolutely relied upon to do so, as they are often in the current system. If one goes missing tracking back, it won't leave such a hole, & they could press Liverpool in their half. Both are available to feed Aguero.

In a more attacking version where the players actually play as wide strikers rater than wingers, you could actually play Aguero on the left of the 3. He has done it plenty in the past.

Ideally though, we would need to sign two more dynamic & preferably faster players than Silva & Nasri in those positions for a 4-3-3. Could be Barker & Ambrose in the future.

Pellegrini's system would piss all over 4-3-3 if the players were able to to play it, as it would be all formations rolled into one. But they only do it in short bursts.

Lopes is perfect for the 4-3-3 too.

that's two stupid back heel flicks in his first two games that have given the ball away needlessly, sort that shit out Bony!
