Never thought I would say this but we are not good enough without YaYa.

I still think he is a lazy b***ard but his presence and ability brings so much.

The stats do no lie.

The season has finished today , Pogba is an absolute must for next year.

Pogba with all his skills is no Yaya.

Cheers

People on here seem pretty fixated with Pogba. For all his talents he won't offer what Yaya will.

The focus should be on why Fernando and Fernandinho are such inadequate replacements.

Neither Fern can pass like Toure or are as intelligent as him while attacking, so they really can't replace him. I don't think any player on earth has everything like Toure does.

I've been saying this for a while now.
Yaya breaks midfield lines with both his passing and runs, committing players to him
Hence this creates more space between the oppositions midfield and the defence where Silva, Nasri like to operate. To me it's no coincidence that Silva's form has suffered as a result of Yaya's absence.
At Chelsea, this wasn't an issue, because the the two Ferns job was to hold and contain, with occasional surges in to the oppositions half.
What has baffled me most is the lack of time Frank Lampard has seen while Toure has been away, particularly against Hull and Everton (I'm giving the club the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't fit to start against Boro).
The way we handled the whole affair at Christmas was embarrassing, however I wasn't mithered due to the need to replace Yaya!
So why go through all that and then not play the guy?
Basically we have won games without Aguero, we have won games without Silva and Nasri, but we have not won one game without Yaya.

Yaya's passing is amazing, his strength is unmatched, his runs are too infrequent these days to be considered a factor but the defender's fear of them is.

He is, quite simply, unique. I'd be very tempted to put the workhorse Jimmy alongside him and have Fernandinho holding the midfield for the rest of the season, play Bony in the middle and flank him with Silva and Aguero. Isolate and overlap the fullbacks and use them for width. You know, what Mancini did to great effect.

Nasri for mine has fallen further this season than he did before and when his running off the ball is his best feature(which he is admittedly, exceptional at doing), I don't think the team can carry that.

Nasri imo was better than Silva before his injury.

we got Fernandilio to do barrys job so no idea why we got Fernando. he does the same job as the dildo, except worse. we brought Fernando in at the same time chelsea got cesc, at the same price...

Correct. Nasri was a bigger miss than Yaya IMO. At the beginning of the season a number of people were calling for yaya to be dropped.

When yaya plays well we're dependant on him.

When silva plays well we're dependant on him.

When nasri plays well we're dependant on him.

When aguero plays well we're dependant on him.

Etc etc. I think it's clear we are not a one man team. We're just shit out of form.
