Brahim apparently running the show again. What a talent! How long before he gets in the first team squad? Two years or three?

Can't see it taking that long once Pep arrives. He just lights up the place as soon as he's on the ball.

Magical talent.

Great strike by Rodney Kongolo makes it 2.

I'd have him in the match day squad this season, just to give him a taster. Not necessarily to give him minutes on the pitch at this stage.

Good play between Patching and Nmecha makes it 3, second for Nmecha.

I'd like to think Pep will give Brahim and Garcia a chance.

I see Pablo Maffeo can't even get a start for Pep's brother's team.

Are we guilty of overstating how good these young lads are?

How late is it on Friday? I land at 6.30, so I doubt I'll be able to make it, but it'd be very nice if I did.

Pablo Maffeo is quality and must be being mismanaged or he has injury issues.

I've been impressed when I've seen him too Doug but I just don't get this, if anything this loan move looks like it may set him back with the lack of any football.

I was hoping he'd be ready to step up next season with some experience of senior football but doesn't look likely that will be the case now.

U16s and u18s both played against Liverpool today.

U18s Won 2-0 and are top of the tier 1 play offs and have a game in hand

U16s won 9-0 yes that is NINE

Jadon Sancho scored 2 and set one up, then went and made the Bench for the u18s and he came on in the a second half replacing Garcia. He is another hot prospect.

U15s crowned champions

The Academy has enjoyed a great deal of success recently and that continued with the U15s in recent weeks… City U15s were crowned as inaugural Floodlit Cup winners at Burton Albion's Pirelli Stadium on 8 April.

John Mullin's side now have the title of the best in the country and beating West Brom 4-1 in the national final of the competition.

Their journey has been ongoing throughout the season with the U15s sailing through the group stage which contained Bolton, Everton and Liverpool.

Sunderland were the opponents in the quarter final and they were dispatched of to set up a last four clash with Leeds United.

The youngsters visited Yorkshire in high spirits and it reflected in the result with a 6-0 hammering of Leeds to progress to the Northern final, where they would face Aston Villa.

A brace from Henry Ogunby and one from Felix Nmecha, brother of U18s striker Lukas, secured the 3-0 win and a place in the National final against West Brom.

Taylor Richards' brace, coupled with goals from Nmecha and Ogunby, helped City on their way to a 4-1 win as they ran out as deserved winners against the Baggies.

Commenting on the success in the competition, Mullin said: "I'm the delighted with the victory, I thought it was thoroughly deserved. It was great to see the response from the lads after going behind, so it was great to see their character on a big occasion.

"It was good to see them cope with the pressure and retain their composure to come back and win."

"Going forward, they've got to continue working hard and looking to develop."

"They've got to keep working hard in training and hopefully they will do well in future tournaments."

He continued: "The recent success of the Academy shows that we're doing things the right way.

"We're not only winning games, but playing an attractive brand of football throughout the teams at the CFA.

"We do have some talented players here and it's about us guiding them in the right direction and trying to educate them on potential professional careers in the future."

Sounds decent. Funny how none of this success will be reported though

Pleasure to watch the under 18's today at Liverpool and it was no walkover. Although we were clearly the better side Liverpool were strong and quite aggressive so we had plenty to deal with. Good energy throughout the team and the first goal came from pressing and forcing an error. Brahim Diaz got onto it and although he could have driven straight for goal himself he slipped Manu Garcia in in the inside left position and he scored well.

We could easily have scored 1 or 2 more but it was near misses while at the other end Grimshaw in goal had little to do. Some slightly worrying situations but we were solid in the middle with Humphreys and Tosin in control. We should have gone 2 up early in the 2nd half as Diaz wriggled though the left side and put the ball on a plate for Nemane who some how missed the ball two yards out.

Liverpool had a good spell then without really testing Grimshaw and then we broke away , Diaz again , and his perfectly weighted ball gave Nmecha a chance which he took with the keeper getting a hand on it but not enough. Ona better day we would have scored a few more but 2 nil it stayed. Excellent team performance all round with a special word for Davenport in the holding midfield role but really there were plenty out there deserving of a mention.

The under 16's after their 9 nil rout came over to watch the final 10 or 15 miniutes and any number of them I would expect are ready for the step up. Can't wait to watch them too.

It all makes for really good reading.
Really hope Pep sees enough in two or three of these youngsters to bring them through.
It would shut up another media stick that they beat us with.

Another great little video of Brahim. Ridiculous to say he reminds me of a young Messi but he reminds me of a young Messi!
