HT, City are in easy control of this, but they have to be careful as Utd look direct and have threatened on the break. We should put this to bed but I think the sending off has galvanised Utd rather than hindering them.

Strange HT change, Hunphreys off, he didnt look injured and was solid, but he wasnt under threat either for most of the half. Will be interesting to see this, Kigbu has replaced Humphreys

Kigbu almost scored from a corner, would have been an emphatic introduction.
This kid had a choice between un and the Rags and chose us, he is only 16 and looks a good prospect.

Sounds very much like the first team to me. All possession but no cunt can score.

Nmecha just missed a golden opportunity, City are being very wasteful, reminds me of the 1st team

2-0 diaz nice goal.

Utd had a free kick and got giddy, 35 yds from goal and went all sunday league lump it forward mode!

35 yards from our goal? That's progress for them isn't it. At least progress on their first team.

The RAG reporter is distinctly pissed off feeding the text report. However the daft cunt said he's really impressed with the academy. Said he's never been before. Can you believe that? Local sports reporter never been there? How the fuck can he have any idea what he is talking about?

all over, City gave them a lesson in football, some very nice football on display, but very wasteful in front of goal. Maybe a bit of complacency with us having the lead and them down to 10 men.

We bossed the game from start to finish and our keeper could have been reading the Beano all game for all the work he had to do.How it was only 2 nil is a mystery but I suppose part of it is that we didn't actually play very well. A bit complacent from the start if you ask me but we did miss some absolute sitters which would have given the scoreline a more realistic scoreline like 4 , 5 or 6.

One of the rare games where the opposition looked smaller over all than City but apart from working quite hard and being reasonably organised defensively Utd were awful. I liked much of what Nmecha did today. He seemed to have the measure of any defender given the task of marking him so a bit of a surprise he only scored one.

I think Brahim looked better playing from wide and gave the full back a torrid time. (was that full back a bit on the heavy side?) Pretty well all our players looked pretty good although maybe not fully at their best. I liked Sarmiento again. Full of good running, key in Brahim's goal, and again looking technically superb. Obviously totally untested today defensively.

The draws for both the semi-final and Final of The FA Youth Cup have been made at Wembley Stadium.

With a number of fixtures in the fifth round still to be played and then the sixth round proper to come after that, the draws remain complicated but will begin to take shape over the next few weeks.

Semi-Final second leg ties are to be concluded by Saturday 9 April, with the dates for both legs of The Final to be confirmed after that.

The Semi-Final draw

First leg – to be played by Saturday 19 March

1 Blackburn Rovers or Preston North End or Luton Town v AFC Wimbledon or Chelsea or Wolverhampton Wanderers or Reading

2 Manchester City or Norwich City v Coventry City or Arsenal or Liverpool

Second leg – to be played by Saturday 9 April

1 AFC Wimbledon or Chelsea or Wolverhampton Wanderers or Reading v Blackburn Rovers or Preston North End or Luton Town

2 Coventry City or Arsenal or Liverpool v Manchester City or Norwich City

The Final

First leg

1 Manchester City or Norwich City or Coventry City or Arsenal or Liverpool v Blackburn Rovers or Preston North End or Luton Town or AFC Wimbledon or Chelsea
or Wolverhampton Wanderers or Reading

Second leg

2 Blackburn Rovers or Preston North End or Luton Town or AFC Wimbledon or Chelsea or Wolverhampton Wanderers or Reading v Manchester City or Norwich City or Coventry City or Arsenal or Liverpool

Wouldn't it be cool if they had some sort of relay race, where you pitch 2 teams in turn consisting of 4 teams against each other, and each team gets to play 22,5 minutes each? No it wouldn't but it sounded cool when I started this post and I'm not going to let it go to waste.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."
