Top 100 footballers of 2014

Postby Wonderwall » Mon Dec 22, 2014 3:20 pm

The Guardian are releasing the top 100 footballers of 2014 over the next few days and the list is currently at 41-100, top 40 not out yet.

No Silva, Aguero, Hart, Yaya or Kompany yet, but Zaba and Dzeko have been named 59 and 66, both below sterling?? Yeah right!

these things are all a bit silly though aren't they. David Luiz at 95, there are probably 995 defenders better than him, and boateng rated higher than zabba...lol...what a pile of bollocks that list is.

That Doumbia cunt made the list. Don't know why you're surprised Silva, Kun, Kompo and Yaya haven't been mentioned - they will probably all make the top 20/30

Funny...
You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

well, kun is in the top 10

yaya 19
silva 34
komps 37

and looks like joe didn't make it (don't think he did last year either)

kun was 10th last time. will the punish him for being injured last season or boost him for his play to start this season?

Yaya 19th lol, they should be ashamed. Not sure where Kun is but they have Neuer #3 and Thomas Mueller #5 ffs, guy's the most overrated player in world football ffs this genuinely sickens me. A few years ago he was an underrated player, not many people saw his qualities, but he was never top bracket. So many people have jumped on the bandwagon. Aguero should be third, Yaya in the top 10 or very close.

It's just a list. It exists purely to generate debate.

I have been told that it is a poorly written article, with many grammatical errors, a strange use of italics and ignorance of the grammar in other languages. Never mind incorrect spelling.

Apparently the Grauniads Editor should be sacked for allowing such rubbish.

I can understand Yaya being brassed off for not having his achievements recognised. 17 goals from a mid-fielder, storming season, league winner - and they give best player to Stevie Me.

Other than that I don't mind if we are underestimated

Although they did give best player to Suarez, and he did have a great season. 2nd to 11th without him, says it all really.
