If there was an agenda the onside goal yesterday wouldn't have been given offside, Mangala would have got sent off for his high kick a few weeks back and I'm sure we've been lucky elsewhere too. People here remember all the calls that go against us and don't think anything of decisions that go for us. I'm pretty sure if you check every single forum for every single team you will see the same thing - fans always think referee's are unfair against them.
And guess what, they aren't!!
That the media has a strong bias towards their favourite teams like Utd and Liverpool (the ones with the biggest fanbases, so generate the most advertising dollars) which is just what it is. That won't change until more people want to read articles about City than Utd, and that's going to take decades. Referees aren't bent, if anything they are probably favourable to us as they tend to be more hesitant making match changing decisions against the "big" teams. Same with the bias that probably creeps in giving favourable decisions for home teams with the home crowd supporting them.
Paranoid?
TEN STONE WALL PENALTIES NOT GIVEN. TEN. I'm not talking about the 50/50s here.
And you think because we didn't have a player sent off for a high foot that referees are "probably favourable" towards us?
There may be one reason for these decisions... there may be ten reasons. Do I now why that cunt booked aguero for having the legs hacked from underneath him in the box - 3 yards away from where he was standing? I'll probably never know.
But is real and it happened. As I said earlier, these vital decisions could be a 20 point swing over a season.
I'll never forget our first title winning season. Our charge was almost derailed directly because of officials. And I don't forget games like the first Bayern away match, when we had two stone wall penalties waved away that would have put us 2 nil up.Or the numerous other champions league "weird" decisions.
Since that title winning season, I'd say we are about 80/20 with regards decisions against and in favour.
I don't know how much more success we would have had in this period if it actually was 50/50, or as that old cunt once said "evens itself out over the course of the season".
Bullshit it does. And it doesn't matter "why" it happens, it only matters that it happens and it's bullshit. There will always be 50/50 decisions, that's part of the game. But there is no excuse for bad officiating. They should be answerable to the people who really pay their wages. They should be investigated and they should be fired if it happens continuously. That is the only way it will be stamped out.
Until it is stamped out, I'll continue to shout about it
