Gutted not to be involved in the roof on this project, having worked on some of the very best in the world this is one I would have loved to finish on this one as im getting out of the industry. All looks great so far and I'm sure it will be fantastic when complete.

No idea who JRB is but he's basically been stalking the work with constant photos. Definitely worth nipping in there regularly to see what's changed. Not sure anyone on here would be that dedicated (DH's sadly missed training updates aside)

Jrb is a legend. He's less blue mong, more city fan into architecture and construction. Can be found on skyscrapercity being a professional manc. Top lad.

I think that's what I was getting at, for any local lads or lasses to pop along and get some updates. Doug's more into the EDS now, which in itself is an interesting read.

Nope, though there is a fire in a nearby chemical plant being currently reported by the BBC.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

Was down at the ground this afternoon and lots going on. A huge support beam is now up right in the middle of the back of the stand, which now protrudes out right into Ashton New Rd so am assuming this is a temporary thing, with the roof support now in matching all the others around the stadium.

In addition the corner roof structure, to join up the South Stand and Colin Bell Stand corner is sat in the car park, waiting to be hoisted up and in. Fans should notice real signs of progress next home match - can I stress in the strongest possible terms, the real "signs of progress" will be with the building and development of the stand and not in any way to do with the team playing on the pitch.

Nice little caveat at the end there!!! Those support sections will remain, and they are huge, take a look at this and you will see them go in on 1min 19scs and then 5 seconds later you get a good view of that they look like completed

I already had the Platt Lane down as a bag of shite, just like everything Swales did. The Kippax build, spread round a full bowl, would have been an awsome stadium. Still too small though.

But this one should have been built with the same size lower tier. That's where the atmosphere has gone. Maybe the 3 extra rows will make a difference.
