I dont want to pass judgement on the actual case, because as I understand it that was the problem - unconsciousness - and something about 4 or 5 others!

But I'm pretty sure a lot of the do-gooders who are crying out about this are always the first in the queue to say offenders should be given a second chance etc. Personally I cant understand why this crime cannot be forgiven and a person never resume their trade after the sentence is served, yet every other one can.

That part was never in question or being debated, the issue was the employment or restriction of, post release. It remains to be seen what happens next, but I would imagine this is just the start of a massive mud slinging match and sponsor withdrawal.
