We need a partner for Aguero.

Imo, whatever happens this season, good or bad. Negredo was close but is still more of a centre forward.

It's not Dzeko, it's not Silva, it's not Nasri & it looks unlikely to be Jovetic.

All of those players can have a role in various 11s, but none of them are ideal partners for Aguero. We need someone who is looking for him, but also talks to him & makes runs off him that he responds to & can also score goals.

He doesn't pass to Dzeko or Jovetic & they don't set him up that often & don't seem to have any communication with him.

I'm talking a goalscoring, direct, quick, intelligent No 10, not a striker as such. Someone who will be at the front of the midfield but also a threat who draws out players, leaving Aguero with less to worry about. If Silva scored goals & was a bit more direct & powerful, it would be him, but he doesn't & isn't, so it's not.

A quicker, cleverer, Tevez.

Who is with me ? And any ideas ?

Hazard would have been perfect

Who knows, maybe Lopes could be that guy one day?

Hazard is in the ballpark.

Is Reus, clever & unselfish enough to allow Aguero to be head honcho & feed him thus making a partner rather than a rival ?

Lopes & Pozo would be the young backup players to the kind of player I would have in mind; need the finished article imo.

Sturridge would be great foil for Sergio.

Honestly, Aguero doesn't need a partner or a number 10, he's good enough on his own. Barca built a team around Messi and played to his strengths, why don't we?

Most worrying thing of all the way the season is panning out is if god forbid Sergio gets injured we are totally fucked !

Maybe but would he be content to feed Aguero when it's on, or would he have serge waving his arms about ? Suarez is much more of a one two, putting others through kind of player than Serge imo.

Because Barca have goals from everywhere, & Messi is miles better at evading 5 defenders than Sergio.

Sergio loves playing one two's he was at it non stop with the beast i think they would be a cracking partnership but fuck it never gonna happen.
Those two from CSKA look good.

Actually, just slightly off the subject, that lad who keeps scoring v us looks as if he'd be a great signing as one of our strikers, whether he plays with Serge or not.

That's assumimg Kelechi isn't going to be brought through now, in which case he may actually be the answer to my o.p.

Absolutely.

In the past, I would have loved us to get Cavani but, given his age now and the amount we'd unrealistically have to pay for him, sadly it can never happen.

Why, oh why did Negredo have to leave us ??

Talented player but raw maybe ? Wouldn't you say he's more of a solo artist though ?

We haven't had the balls to do the same. I reckon Joleon would've understood.

We've played Aguero as a loan striker fucking loads of times in the last few years. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it was utter shite & they have marked him out of the game.
