If it was a City player it would've been 100.

He's 28 now, so will be 78 when the ban ends.

I can just see him hobbling on to the field as a 85th minute sub for some non-league outfit. He'll kick the referee in the balls - and walk straight off.
My Man City quiz book (now in print as well as Kindle) still outselling the rags! I'll be able to afford a Balti pie soon!
Just published a Christmassy Football Joke and Quiz Book too!

I get the feeling lifetime bans are probably illegal (or at least challegeable), so 50 years does the trick nicely.

"The adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee ... has banned Mr Joseph S. Blatter ... for eight years and Mr Michel Platini ... for eight years from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) on a national and international level. The bans come into force immediately." - 21/12/2015

I don't know about players but referees certainly should for shocking performances (Oliver and the two definite penalties so far today).

You misread the question - no one asked whether an ugly ogre or a bogbrush should be banned from football for 50 years
