I was worried by the mauling him and the boys took from ze chermans back in Brazil might fuck his head all up and it seems I may have been right to be concerned

i think he absolutely was. World class? No. But an excellent and important role player in winning two pots last season. A very important squad member who we relied upon.

The Rags feasted on trophies with that kind of player...for decades.

Agreed Doom - he's better than we've seen of him this season - not going to make anyone's team of the year, even at his best - but a viral cog in the wheel nonetheless

Fair enough. He always seemed very one dimensional to me, much like the De Jong he replaced.

I understand these guys 'have a job' and do the kind of work idiots like me don't see / understand and every other football genius does but to me he doesn't offer much.

He's not played too much this season, maybe he needs to play himself into form. That was a bad mistake to lead to the goal in the first half though.

If people couldn't see what he offered us last season then they must have been dropped on the head as a baby.

Literally put on his arse for that second goal. Surely if it's accepted you can only really do one thing you should be particularly good at it.

I've only heard you talking about him being a 'one trick pony'.

That's the same kind of thinking as the people who labelled Yaya a defensive midfielder just because he'd been played there by Barca.
