Well I certainly didn't see this coming tonight

Pellers must think he's shown something in training, fuck me, faith in the kids goes from none, to placing a whole game on the lads shoulders

Great to see though, hope it works out

More like he didn't want Edin to play a full game.If we need it later I would not be surprised to see Edin on and Pozo off for maybe 20 minutes.

close. 25 minutes.

Pozo did well. unlucky for him he was asked to play out of position.

Nice to see Ambrose on the bench. Hopefully this isnt the last we see of Pozo; hes a talent but up top alone isnt his position

Why Sinclair and not anyone else? I've volounteered in another thread and they haven't picked up on that offer, so why not just put on a kid. Any kid. One in the stands. Why play a fringe player? I don't get it.

Also reward for lots of effort in training in spite of no games perhaps.

Or, most importantly, he was trying to win a game that we currently weren't leading in, and he feels that Sinclair is a better forward option than a young lad without a PL minute to his name?

Perhaps, but seems like an odd moment to pick for that don't you think?

Well, as subbing on Sinclair has never helped us in the past I don't buy that argument.

do we really think Pellegrini will about-face and give some kids (Denayer, Nacho, Zuculini, Lopes, etc) meaningful match time barring injury and/or suspension? and im not just talking about the first handful of cup matches. the guy is out of his contract at the end of the season so he's fighting to impress, whether its our board or some other club's. plus, he obviously wants to win (and entertain the crowd with goals) and it seems like most managers believe that raw kids will cost them points and then, potentially, their job.

i don't think he's got the stones to start Nacho and/or Denayer vs the Baggies despite Dzeko's head being turned (if he's still here at that point), Aguero not being fit, and Bony sorely lacking match time and Kompany looking like shit and MDM not deemed ready yet either.

Definitely a great prospect but the question is when do we blood these great prospects in serious games and we have plenty of them. Denayer being shipped out on loan, probably Lopes as well, just shows how hard it is to break into the City squad never mind the first team.

You only have to look at our current first team to realise ,agree and understand. It's the bench at best and even then Pellers seems reluctant to throw young players into the fray. Surely some will get a chance in the Capital Cup but even there for the likes of Iheanacho I expect it will be from the bench as Bony will get the first go I expect.

Just as the players seem really up for it so far ( I know its only 3 games) but so to is Pellegrini and I doubt very much he is going to " take chances" with his team selection and throw kids into key games unless he has to.

First game of the season was a great oppurtunity to bring on some youth 3-0 up and cruising yet we ended up with 5 defenders on the pitch rather than giving Ian 15 mins of game time, pellers just wont risk blooding youth here , which is weird as he did at Malaga to great sucess in the case of Isco

Didn't one of them (Pelle or Soriano or even Khaldoon) recently say they categorically would not be bringing on players just to get experience, but would put out the best team every time. We've all been around long enough to see games fucked up in the last 15 minutes

So give it a rest mate for fucks sake..

Cant see Pelligrini changing the team much in the short term.
The correct thing for him to do now is to pick the same side that played the last two games against Watford. Stability.
If were winning comfortably then bring nacho on for last 15-20.

I wouldn't bother questioning when the kids are going to get a chance....people will see it as 'moaning'.

Daft that people see it that way. I want nothing more than to see a few of these lads get some game time, especially when we are cruising.

One of the roles of the 'kids' is to bring in revenue for the club. If JD does indeed go to Galatasaray his earnings for City will be running into millions. From that he may indeed develop into a City player.

But the current brief from the chairman to Txiki, Ferran and Pelle is that the club win trophies. It is not to prioritise 'giving people a chance' over winning football matches.

That is the be-all and end-all. If people are good enough they will play, if they aren't they wont.

They caught a bad cold last year getting us knocked out of 2 cups. I'll single out poor old Dedryck again because he is a good example. He did 'OK', he didn't make any major fuck-ups. But he is not top 4 quality.

Lower the quality in the team and you lose football matches.

alright we get it john. you hate the kids and don't want to see them in the team anytime soon, you'd rather the club continued to spend ridiculous amounts of money every window. you've made that clear in multiple threads. we get it.
