Clichy's best game in a City shirt today.

No way did he have Di Maria under control. He got lucky as the game went on. His passing got worse in the second half too. Crickey he nearly scored an
own goal.

Whilst I didn't like this thread as I think it was way overstated I did say yesterday I hope he doesn't start. He was having a shocking season to date.

What a turn around. 2nd best on ground after Demi for my money.
Tracking back is overrated.

He was excellent, one of his best for us and his run & cross for the goal was brilliant.

I'm sure we'll see occasional glimpses, but the myth is dead.

Blimey, two very good performances in a row. He's not a great defender but his recent form has picked up significantly.

This is the problem with Clichy. He is often just about the best left back in the country. Then suddenly, without warning, he is utter dogshit. No obvious reason for it.

Another solid game today. Not spectacular but did the basics right. Didn't see much of Clyne as an attacking threat either. Did his job well and the goal was a big bonus. If he played at that level week in week out he would be our first choice for another 3 years until Angelino is ready

It doesn't seem to about confidence though, because he can play like he did vs rags, then play like he did vs CSKA. You can never see it coming.

Ha ha, fair play to you.

I bet you enjoy seeing Clichy play well much more than you would have enjoyed being right, mate. :-)

Maybe he plays better depending on who else is in the team? There are lots of combinations that work or don't.

Duckman you should be proud. These threads always seem to do wonders for our players.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Confidence player it would seem. Was excellent yesterday, so what the hell was that against CSKA at home? Bizarre.

Perhaps that handball that was harshly given against him which led to CSKA's opener fucked with his head. I did notice him keeping his arms behind his back when attempting to block crosses in the next couple of games.

He was shocking last season. This season he's been more of a mixed bag but there have been some very good performances along with the bad ones at least. Hopefully it's a sign of him getting back to his best. Plus he's now a goal-machine.
