What other English team do you like watching?

Postby PeterParker » Sun Oct 19, 2014 6:19 pm

For all you pervs out there, watching play football. I would have wanted to ask what other Premier League team, but maybe there are some fans of how Swindon plays. So, simple, what other team beside our mighty City do you like watching on the telly and you enjoy the way the look at this moment?

My pick will be Everton.

Since Gollum left, they are a joy (sometimes) to watch under Martinez.

Everton for me, too.

I'll generally try to watch Swansea play, and if there's a couple of 'traditional' clubs playing each other in the televised Championship game, I'll watch them, too.

Toward the end of a season, I'll generally pick a team I want to avoid relegation, and keep an eye out for their games, especially if they're playing immediately before or after us.

Soft spot for QPR since that day and then going to a match at loftus road the following season. Tho 'arry and camelgob are trying to ruin it. Even barton doesn't bother me a fraction of those two.

I'm getting a thing for the championship in my old age. I can only see about a game a week but it's literally the hardest league in the world. Unbelievable. I've got a feeling if I lived in england I'd follow a champo club with some history closest to wherever I was based just to have some fun following a second team.

I can watch any team that was in the top flight when I was a kid, but have fallen on hard times. Both Sheffield clubs, wolves, Derby amd even Lerds. I also will watch AFC Wimbledon if on telly and check their results every week. Spurs were always great to watch upto a couple of years ago.

I generally stay on if it's Everton, Southampton, united losing or a title challenger.

I don’t watch really watch other clubs on the TV, certainly not enough to have a current favourite.

I watch out for the results of Sheffield United, Wrexham and Reading as I have friends who support those clubs, and Accrington Stanley because of their ‘istry.

I did though enjoy watching David Moyes’ rags last season, although for different reasons from those suggested in the OP.

As to who I look out for them it's Oldham (first ground I ever went to) and Forest (lived near ground for a while).

Who do I enjoy watching. Heresy but when Henry was there I liked Arsenal. Agree re Everton, just loved that goal yesterday when both fullbacks were in the opponents box. Actually I quite like watching United, that Leicester game was fab.

My wife's went to see the baggies a lot when she was a kid, so I like to see them do well (especially tomorrow). Other than that, it's both the Manchester teams (MCFC and MCWFC).

It used to be Villa (not because of how they played) until that fucling tramp went to help out. For me it's more a case of occasionally watching the team of certain managers though, so I don't mind watching Everton at the moment or whoever Ewe is in charge of (not had a very good start to the season this time though).

I've enjoyed watching United from the minute Moyes walked through the door. I've enjoyed them a bit this year - MK Dons, Leicester - and hope to continue to do so against West Brom, Chelsea and City, until Van Ghoul gets the boot.

Didn't used to watch them though :-)

Used to like watching Arsenal but I just can't be bothered anymore, it's like watching Wenger headbutting a wall.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

I used to enjoy watching Arsenal as they played the best football in the Prem history, until us.

But the club, manager & fans are such a bunch of bitter, slapped arse, wankers, I would now happily see them go fucking bankrupt & cease to exist. It's as if they found finishing behind the rags acceptable, but finishing behind us is an insult.

It's all a great pity imo, as title struggles between City & Arsenal, as they used to be, would raise the bar further & there's no reason it couldn't have been done in an atmosphere of mutual respect, but they have none, & deserve none back.

I will literally watch any football that is on my TV. English, Spanish, Italian, whatever really.

The only club I look out for as such are Hyde. They are my 'local' team, and City have quite heavy links to them.

I used to show an interest in Sunderland (ex missus was a Mackem), but I converted her to City, so I stopped watching them (thank god)
"If we fire our manager after just one bad season - We'll become Chelsea"
"If we think we can fix the problem by buying expensive players - We'll become City"
"If we remember the good times to entertain us during the bad times - We'll become Liverpool"

So, keep calm and do it the United way

"We invest in young players, That is what we are good at — we’re not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We know that Manchester City are going to pay stupid money, pay silly salaries and all that. We can’t do anything about it. We concentrate on what we can do to try to bring players in for the right reasons. We invest in those who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club, who will create excitement for our fans. We are very proud of that and we are going to continue that way" - Alex Ferguson 14th May 2012
