Do we have it too good?

Postby Pretty Boy Lee » Sat Oct 18, 2014 2:05 am

Reading the Lukaku thread amongst other player threads over the last few years got me thinking.

Do we have it too good now?

Is there any player in the world that we could be linked to and get near unanimous praise or are we forever destined to have half out fan base feel any potential transfer isn't up to snuff?

This is not based around lukaku as I think there's valid points in both sides, but I thibk messi, Ronaldo, ivrahimovic anyone really I can think of who is a superstar has detractors on here.

Surely this wouldn't be the case if we were shit, I'm not upset by it, it's just fascinating to think how far we've come and that top clubs can be so fussy on players. Who knew.

Wrong.
Real have it too good.
Barca have it too good.
And no-one in Spain will care . Or be able to do anything about it.
Yawn.

Them lot down the road HAVE had it too good , and they're bitching and squealing like a spoilt 12-year-old who's not allowed to win every party game at their own birthday.

Do WE have it too good ?
No.

Well that's cos there are valid reasons for and against signing any of those players. Are we meant to be bowing down to anyone and signing anyone just cos they're big names? We have to be picky. We have to sign players who are better than the ones we have. Messi and Ronaldo would improve any team in the world, but there's a definite argument against them perhaps already peaking and not being worth the incredible financial figures they'd demand. Ibrahimovic is just too old and doesn't fit our style and he'd want to be the main man and that'd not fit with players like Silva, Yaya and Aguero so we'd be silly to get him.

I don't think we have it too good, i just think our needs have risen hugely cos of our improvements.

Pogba or Barkley are great examples of young talent that i don't think anyone would be bothered if we signed for a fair enough price.

Agreed.

Until we've won umpteen pots and even a European one and seen the rags cry in their beer and the implosion of the dippers we can never have it too good

The challenge now is to make our own players. We should be looking thumb our noses at all but those we can not create for ourselves.

No. I don't believe we have got it too good. Perhaps you are starting to believe the shite some in the media are trying to push bout supposed City fan "apathy". I don't know.

This is interesting though. I watched Match of the Day for the first time in aeons the other day. I watched Lukaku v Villa and watched Aguero v Tottenham. Which would you want in your team? I know which I prefer. No point in buying a Lukaku when you have got the options we have already got, especially now money has been made into an object. I would not want to see City buying fifty-odd players then loaning them all out. Nor do I want us to have all the top players and no competition, like the bayerns of this world.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

Not certain you read my post if you think I want lukaku over Aguero.

The point is there is nobody left in world football that a good few of us don't think is either shite or way overrated and that is reflected in the discussion on here.

As for it being media shite, surely I'm not then only one noticing how quiet this place has been lately? It certainly appears that a decent slice of our support was happier slagging us off for being shit or basking in the glory of still loving us in hard times than winning pots. At the very least they were more vocal then anyway
