Has more to do with playing a five man midfield, I would say.

Well earned 3 points. Didn't think we'd get them at one stage but a wins a win. Still a lot to get slicker about but bit of pressure on Chelsea now. Pleased with clean sheet as well. Fernando looked the part when he came on. Missed him these last six games

Good grit and determination showed by the team but wow how can one not notice the difference when we went to a 5 man midfield?

Very happy for yaya with that goal.

What 5 man midfield ?????

wtf are you talking about ? We played 9 players on the edge of the Villa box for the entire game .... Law of averages says we'll get a chance at goal.

Sorry se looked far more vulnerable to counters...actually we were...as fernando was there to protect the defence and yaya and silva given more freedom in the attack.

That appeared to me to be a key difference after lampard and fernando came on.

Yes, villa was probably tired from pressing so much, but we looked far more comfortable in possession the last 25 minutes.

Frustrating 80 minutes but what a finale ! Yaya back to saving us and may this open the floodgates for him. Clean sheet and great performances from almost all the lads. Perfect day.

What's going on with Dennis Wise's hair? He looks like a retired tax collector rather than footballer.

I hope Villa go down now. Sick of their "sit back and lump it to the fast guy forward" strategy. Oh, and K*ane.

Agreed. He is probably an interesting and intelligent bloke on any subject except money in football. I would want to slap the others after one sentence on any topic.

Brilliant until the final third, until the last 10 mins.

Silva majestic, Milner covered every blade and Ya Ya and Sergio were clinical in the nick of time. Fernando an absolute key to how we want to play. Welcome back to him, and to Ya Ya Toure. Pleasing.
