Get diMaria in quick. Or Fabregas. Or Gerrard (not that dippers or rags are a threat, just that they're despicable)

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

Shouldn't really say this but, if he were to have a coronary, the hope would be that it wasn't trivial.

We should have won that game with a cigar on but decided a batch of typical City syndrome was required. Mangala's brain fart first half, and Clichy getting isolated and skinned undid the good work of the first 20 mins but we recovered well to right the ship and claim the win.

Edin crucial & clinical when required, Vinny dependable, Zabba overlapping constantly and Jimmy again another long busting effort. Bigger tests ahead but it's a start.

Meanwhile Manuel's decision to select Caballero will kick off a media shitstorm over the next 72 hours till the Roma team is confirmed - something we can do without tbh.

But what a difference between Clichy and Zabba, Zabba always on attack always overlapping, good cross , Great defender top top full back, Clichy every fourth game is perfect in defense and that is it forward offer nothing and i blame him more for Mangala own goal then Mangala.Think we have two solid left back but Kolarov is more productive on hes day . One position where i do think we are average at best is goalie.... Willy nothing , Hart well we all knew world class on line , garbage out of line. thinking not hes best quality.

Clichy is crap mate! People still like to bring up the myth that he's put in there instead of Kolarov because he's better at defender when the truth is he's not and doesn't offer anything whatsoever going forward. It was Clichy's fault for their first 100% If he can't do the basics and not get skinned and cut out a cross we're always going to be in danger. I really don't know why Pellers fucks about so much in these matches swapping people.

He fucks about because we play every three/four days. It's squad rotation too keep everyone's engine ticking over.

I agree on Aleks though. Looks better all round at the moment.

can someone please explain why it's always the fullbacks that get rotated??

bobby the fraud did it and so does pellers.

'istree proves that consistently successful teams play with a stable defensive unit

I would suggest two reasons. Agree it disagree these are why I think it happens more in this area.

1 the modern fullback gets up and down the pitch more than ever before and can be considered a very hard position to play. I've not looked at stats so feel free to prove me wrong, but with less wingers at the too of the game te fullbacks now add that job to their defensive one in theory.

2nd while I don't disagree with keeping a solid back 4, from my point of view when I'm coaching a solid, regular spine trumps that. I'd rather a regular cb pairing, central mid and striker combo that plays week in week out than a regular back 4. To me that's far more vital and the wide areas get switched more often. If Aguero was fit all the time would he rest often? Doubtful. Same reason Vinny and yaya rarely rest. Just my two cents anyway.
Tracking back is overrated.

As well as the full backs, perhaps this season we might just see the centre-backs rotated more than, in the past, might have been deemed to be desirable.

However, I just wonder if Pellegrini regards the full back role as being very important and overly exhausting, with the need to do a lot of fast running and overlapping to provide the width in attack, followed by a lot of sprinting to get back in defence when the move breaks down. On this basis, apart from rotating to keep everyone happy and fresh, changing the fullbacks might also prevent some wear and tear type injuries which could, otherwise, be aggravated.

Mind you, that could be speculative rubbish and Pellegrini might just be trying to keep a lot of big players reasonably happy.
