In terms of link up play and sheer footballing intelligence, i definitely has the tools to be better than him, yeah. He flits between the lines in a Bergkamp/Silva-esque manner. It's great.

Obviously as a striker Aguero will most likely always the upper hand, but there's no shame in that.

Potentially better at passing etc than Aguero.

Serge has never been that easy to work with & seems to have just made something of a leap forward in that respect then got injured, which is a real pisser imo.

Iheanacho has the ability to drop deeper & play like a support striker as well as leading the line, but he has a real pass on him at times moreso than you usually find in a striker. One or two he pulled out of the bag for the u17s, you wonder how he saw it.

Check out the pass at 039 & the weight of it, for a start.

Fair enough. I do not doubt his talent, just haven't seen enough of him.
How long does it take to get a work permit?

In the past, it used to be that you applied, then they turned it down, then you appeal for the 'special talent' allowance. Presumably that depends on how many things they have to deal with.

For all we know, they coud have one now. It could also be the case that we can't use him til Jan.

Sounds a bit like a young Shrek when he was at Everton and for England at Euro 2004.

Hence the "young" Shrek and Euro 2004 when he last played well for England. Not the cretin he is now.

Sounds a player though. Fingers crossed he doesn't go the same way as many of his predecessors, and he is the real deal

I think the Sturridge comparison is more likely to be closer to the truth than anything. I very much doubt he'll go onto Aguero's level.

Citywatch say Club have applied for a work permit this week for Kelechi and 'confident' of getting one.

One wonders why they only applied this week?? thought they could have applied in October or is he not allowed to play until January anyway?

Maybe because the Academy is opened with a political influence and the application was put in his pocket to take back with him?

I think they were impressed by him in the close season but needed to decide whether to put him out on loan or not. They needed a more extended look at him in training to make that decision. It's clear they now want him in the first team squad. No loan.

In preseason he was in more of a supporting role IE behind the striker, but with our injuries and Dzeko just coming back to fitness who knows where we need him? It might be a bit much expecting him to carry our attack right from the first moment though, so I don't think we'll do that.
