Strong rumours on Twatter that we signed Falcao!

Here is the story: http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/ma ... 73875.html

Plus on twatter they are saying that a fee is reached between us and Monaco.

I'm not getting his name on my back yet but.... I think this one could happen.

Stronger rumours coming out of Spain that Neggers is off to Real or Valencia, with Valencia reportedly having agreed a fee. This would open the possibility of Falcao.

Fingers crossed.

Our net spend is c£26m. Even if we sell the Beast for say £24m would we get Fslcao for £47m? Possibly, but wages etc cud push the FFP thingymabob

Been watching this all morning. Still not having it but.. hmm a little excited!

Imagine what a singing that would be, a lot of people seem to forget how good he was a couple of years back!

At this point I would rather just go with what we have. All our strikers are premier league tested. The only way I would like to see us make the move is if the beast really is home sick and needs to go.

But all that being said I would have a heart on if we got falcao.

Loan with fee spread over years, shouldn't be an issue.

Also huge quantity's of the fee will be offset by shirt sales, Falcao will be hugely popular.

Should be noted he was pulled out of the starting line up for Monacos game today, an hour before kick off... he's on the move it seems... where who knows....

But don't we have agreement with Nike that it's they who get the money from shirt sales, not us? (Opposite of Real's situation)

Personally I'm not keen on this signing (&selling Negredo) but if the spaniards can get a good deal I'll trust their judgement

Unsure. Can't imagine we'd hand all our shirt sale revenue to Nike though...

I'm not sure either but I've read that from somewhere.

Could well be true, all these deals behind the scenes are never simple these days.

That's because people who talk about extra shirt sales making back part of a players transfer fee have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. Its one of the most repeated pieces of bullshit ever said, the amount made back is totally negligible. So relatively small it should be ignored completely.

I mean, which is logical right. People don't buy shirts with Falcao on the back because he signed, they would have bought the shirt anyway. I don't know anyone who went to buy a shirt because they were happy about some player signing. And even if all of us did, and even if every penny of every shirt sale went back to the club 100%, we would still need to sell hundreds of thousands of shirts to start making a dent in the transfer free.

Anyway, I don't expect us to sign Falcao because 99.99% of what gets written on Twitter is total bollocks. I hope we do but can't see it.

Canal Plus running that we've got him and he was left out of the squad for today's game so he's going somewhere. Nothing in Marca about him going to Real. Still Jorge Mendez is a lying bugger who's no doubt trying to bid up the package. It's possible we're being used to put pressure on Real. 50-50 I reckon. Can't see anyone else getting him.

Jorge Mendez is his agent?

Pff, he is going to Chelsea then. Mendez is Maureens best friend. Many transfers between them in the past.

Real denying they want Falcao so are we. Best not to trust any denials at this stage. A lot of poker going on. Real favourites but Negredo may still end up at Valencia.
