Di Maria

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Think Di Maria is really hot and cold. Can be awesome but sometimes doesn't put the work in.

He'll obviously improve United and I imagine LVG will get the most from him.

Not for City though, doesn't fit in with the holistic philosophy.

Only another 150 mil to get them into the top 4.

Just money innit, Pretty uppity for a City fan to get excited about another club's spending.

For any top club to get uppity.

That was the point all along and it's gone full circle.

Enjoy

Makes you a certain sort of a person to just do something because someone else did.

But if following the crowd is your thing, enjoy.

In the last 6 transfer windows, the rags have spent 150 million more than us (with a week to go). Looking forward to this being reported in the press wall-to-wall, with the added frisson that all this money comes in the form of debt loaded against the club that their 'fans' will have to pay for.

Overpriced and overrated but he's a big step up on what the Rags have (not saying much) and he'll improve them.

Truly fantastic player, was brilliant for Real at CM. Perez and his shiny new toys.

A shame PSG or Monaco couldn't get him, it's the signing United need (having already spent so much) to show the world that great players will still go there.

Pretty uppity for a Blue to have a pop at a Blue in favour of supporting the Rags on a City forum.

Not quite sure where your view came from tbh, it was an actual forecast of where I thought they're at.

Ah well, go fuck yourself dickhead.

The poor fella cant have seen them play. Maybe he'll watch today?

Good energy etc but I'd be worried about Van Ghoul's obsession with wing backs and 3/5 at the back. Whenever Mancini tried it, it went tits up in seconds and that was with a better squad.

Just doesn't work in the PL at the moment, it has to be 442 or 451.

Duncan Castles of sunday times says we're interested and want Di Maria to delay so that we can raise the necessary. We've spent up to our ceiling but Garcia and Rodwell have raised quite a bit and then there's Nastasic who's probably off to Juventus. Could we sell Negredo to Valencia and maybe Navas somewhere else? All sounds a bit far fetched and Ed's so desperate he might bid another 20 million. Still it would be good to get them to burn an even bigger hole in scum pockets!

Almost???

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Angel di Maria agrees to join Manchester United in £60m deal - after City said no

Aug 23, 2014 22:30 By Simon Mullock

The Citizens were put off by Real Madrid's high demands, but United weren't and will complete a British record deal for the winger

Angel di Maria will join Manchester United in a British record transfer - after rivals Manchester City turned down the chance to sign him.

Sunday Mirror Sport can reveal that United will pay Real Madrid £60million for the Argentina winger.

And they have also agreed to stump up another £7m in add-ons.

The deal will shatter the current British record of £50m paid by Chelsea to Liverpool in January 2011 for Fernando Torres.

United manager Louis van Gaal put Di Maria at the top of his wish list when he name-checked the 26-year-old in an interview with Sunday Mirror Sport earlier this month.

He is the big-name signing that United fans have craved. But they will be devastated to hear that Di Maria's advisers contacted City after the Would Cup to gauge their interest.

The winger wanted to link up at the Etihad with international team-mates Pablo Zabaleta and Sergio Aguero.

But City said they weren't intered.

A senior City source confirmed: "We were approached about the possibility of signing Di Maria. he made it clear he wanted to come here. The deal offered was €75million with another €10m in add-ons. But we were not interested in making it happen.

United, desperate to deliver a stellar name for Van Gaal, haven't been put off.

Woodward was locked in talks with Madrid after the price was set by the European champions.

Di maria has told friends in Spain that he has accepted a £180,000-a-week offer from the Reds.

And he has made it clear he wants the number 7 shirt at Old Trafford.

85 mil euros, you're having a fucking laugh. That's a ridiculous amount to ask for a player who's being offloaded.

I wonder if Butthead's going to turn him into a wing-back because I'm not sure where he's going to play. Maybe he can get him playing CB as that's where they need reinforcements, not an attacking midfielder.

another twist
Duncan Castles in The Sunday Times: City join race for £64m Di Maria

http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/sport/football/Premiership/article1450275.ece
According to a well-placed source, City have asked Di Maria to delay a decision on where he will go as they attempt to solve the Financial Fair Play implications of such an expensive deal. They are seeking to raise about £50m from player sales, with Alvaro Negredo most prominent among the potential departures.

So, we've turned him down and now we're asking him to wait?

Media need to get their story straight.

It would be funny to see us put one over the Rags but I don't think there's a chance of him coming to us to win trophies. It's all about the history you see.

Last throw of a desperate dice for the rag twats . Ridiculously overpriced player absolute panic buy with no value whatsoever . That is there whole transfer budget blown for the season when they really need 2 more top top quality midfielders and at least one more defender . If these cunts don't make the top 4 and CL this season they are fucked big time !
