I see sick note is spouting off in the papers this morning, blaming City and not his broken body for limited opportunities. Tosser

Before jumping in I suggest you read what he actually said, the headline does not equate to what was quoted. In one of the stories (the Mirror, I think) they even edited the quote to suit their headline, something like 'I wouldn't recommend young players go to City' when what he actually said was something like 'I would not tell people not to go to City, but tell them to find their level'.

It was quite a decent interview by Rodwell where he's saying that the level he came to was probably too high for him at the time and that his injuries have hindered his progress, that's why he's now at Sunderland.

Amazing how this has been portrayed by the gutter press but I was even more amazed that Sky ran with a similar headline. Seems like when it comes to us, the only thing that can be reported is put in a negative slant.

Stones, glass houses and all that.

I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

He also said that he was perfectly fit for the last 18 months and can't understand why he's got a reputation for being injury prone. LOL. I wish the lad well but get on and play and shut the fuck up.

I saw the headline, thought "cheeky twat", then when I read what he actually said, found it was not a great deal like was suggested.

Mugged us for 2 years. Says he was fit so Jack me old mate how can you explain that 45 mins shocker of a performance v Watford in the FA Cup last season? If Pellers had left you on we could have lost by 4 or 5 thankfully Kompany came on and saved the day.

Rodwell you dick! Can't believe ppl are defending him! Sure, the headlines are a bit OTT but he made some fucking truly shit remarks about the club, all completely unnecessary. All the hamstrung fuck had to say was "I enjoyed my time at city. Unfortunately it didn't work out."

"Rodwell is keen to stress that he was fit for 47 of City's 57 matches"

Where in the article does he stress that?

If he hasn't been injured for the past year, then he's actually shit instead.

I'll have to revise my records.

Newcastle v City, Capitol One Cup:

Rodwell taken off after 64 mins, clearly struggling, poor lad, due to his injury problems absolute fucking shite.

City v Watford FA Cup:

Rodwell had to be taken off at half time, as he seemed to be lacking in pretty much everything due to his ongoing struggle with injury because he's FUCKING SHITE.

In the Northern Echo he says " Last season I was probably injured less than pretty much any other member of the Manchester City team.... I feel fit but I've been fit for a year and a half now."

He basically says Pellegrini didn't fancy him and froze him out whereas Mancini told him he was very much in his plans.

Thanks mate, just read the Northern Echo piece there, it's nice to get all the quotes in context.

what the fuck is it with mediocre players slagging city off because they were sold?

At least him and AJ can swap stories of how they were part of the squad that won premier league. Doubt Sunderland will ever trouble a cup engraver

His comments in the Mirror arent that bad.

Hes basically saying if youre young and talented go somewhere where you can play regularly and develop and not just move to a big club for the clubs stature and wages because that big club probably already has better players and youll find it hard to play alot, which is absolutely correct.
