I agree.

Fernando did ok on his own & got in plenty of interceptions, but it was a case of reaction rather than prediction; he didn't read the game & stop danger before it happened like Barry used to do, & Garcia had started to do.

This is why it's madness IMHO to get rid of Javi if he is out of the Champs squad promise him the cups and tell him he can go in Jan if he wants.
At the moment playing Fernando is leaving us exposed as he isnt up to speed.

We don't really know what the Count has in mind yet though. If it's simply a direct swap, then I would say we are stronger with Garcia, but if it's a change of style, to a more athletic mid with both Fernandinho & Fernando behind Yaya, then it may look very different.

That's what I would like to see at least for some matches. Fernando has pace and so does Mangala. Two big ticks from me.

Early season lat year plenty on here were writing Ferny off, I expect him to be adjusting and then flying after we all settle down into the side we all know we have, massive change from Portugal and scratch sides players jogging about. He will see a whole new world Next Sunday 4.00 pm it will be fast and furious, and not the farce of Sunday !

Absolutely, it took a fair bit of time last year for people to work out what Fernandinho was all about - it was only when he spent a spell injured around October/November I think that people then realised what we were missing

I haven't read one single post writing off Fernando. Just some people expressing the opinion that so far, he isn't showing enough to be a selection in the strongest 11, when compared to the alternatives.

I've seen plenty of him so far to know he will be quality. We were before last season started that Fernandinho would be a top premiership player and that's exactly what he was.I think Fernando will be the same and we will start to see it when we play our first team or at least close to it.

Garcia Is absolutely average. A few decent (not great) displays towards the end of last season but overall he had a fairly poor two seasons with us. Likeable bloke, good professional but ultimately not good enough for us. Every midfielder for a top club should be comfortable in possession and be able to confidently pass the ball forwards. Don't think I've seen Garcia pass it more than 5 yards forward.

no need for him any more now with the arrival of fernando, or else would have happily kept him for back up.

I'd rather milner play instead of him. but garcia somehow how started ahead of milner last season in some games.
Still here.

Sheikh Mansour
went to Spain
In a Ford Fiesta

Brought back Javi Garcia
Thought he'd got Iniesta

Was piss poor in 2012/13 (that's Javi, not the Sheikh), improved a bit last year to become serviceable but totally unsuited to the pace and power of the Premier league. He looked a lot better last season because he was sooooo bloody bad the season before.

Good luck Javi, you left with 2 winners medals and that rather fit missus of yours so Im sure youll survive.

As with most players leaving, thank you and good luck at next club. It just didn't work out as it was hoped, but that's football. Bit more money in coffers for January if needs be as well
