Howard Webb has retired and is being moved upstairs (probably to protect Utds interest in the coming season)

the same twattenburger who gave Liverpool 3 penalties at OT last season? That relationship broke down a long time ago.

I think Webb was the best ref in England.... had the bottle to make big decisions and wasn't swayed by the hype and mind games managers tried to engage in.

I hope you're being sarcastic.

If so, apologies for me being so obtuse and failing to recognise it as such.

As an honest answer, I think Mike Dean is the best ref. Makes both sides feel like they were hard done by and that's good enough for me.

Wow - just wow.

Webb epitomised just how much sway bacon had. Webb has achieved everything there is to achieve as a referee up to and including reffing the WC final. How did he get that gig? He became recognised as EPL's top referee - how did he get that gig? because he was most frequently chosen to ref the 'top' clashes, e.g. the scum Vs Chelsea, Arse and redscouse. - how did he get those gigs so frequently - simply because bacon had less criticism and moaning about him than any other ref - and just why the fuck was that??

So many other refs started to go the same way because they knew they would not get the big matches if bacon objected - so they started to give the 'benefit of doubt' the scum way on sooo many occasions.

Webb only went vaguely neutral in the last couple of seasons when he had already reached the reffing summit - and then he was criticised by the scum for 'no longer making the brave decisions'

I consider him to be less the utter twat of a man that I would understand some might suggest - just someone that played the 'toadying' game to get on in his career - and I am sure we all know people like that. Still means he was corrupt IMO

P.s. - if that was sarcasm - apols - I am just making a general point - and I suspect that butthead might start to see a few 'benefit of the doubt ' decisions go his way/
