He's a great player and I'd much rather see him on the bench than Garcia.

Great? set your bar lower Nige, he's a good player, but all things considered, 10m is good business.

This. He's 23 and he's been injured for two years. Not a great player by any means. Decent player when fit (chuckle) but even at Everton I never thought he was good enough for us. His best asset to us was his nationality...

I'm a bit disappointed he never really stayed fit enough to have even a fighting chance of establishing himself at City.I think he's a very talented player but injury has really held him back. All things considered it looks a good deal for all concerned.Good luck to him I Hope he gets his fitness in order and starts fulfilling his potential, could still go on to be a great player.

thought he was a player of good potential, but he spent a crucial development period injured and not playing. When he did come on, you could see the rust on him, and unfortunately, he never seemed to be able to shake it off and move on.

Sorry to see him go, potential unfulfilled ... but 10m makes it easier.

We all want the English lads to do well I think. He showed glimpses in some games. No doubt if he was fit he'd be in the England team (doesn't say much) Overall though, as someone else said, Christmas has come early, for a £10 million return. Great business.

Agree with all above but if they pay 10M up front we have seen them coming. You'd have to see him fit for 6 months before you stumped up hard cash!

With the financial structure they are on, I doubt they have 10M to pay up front.

It's a pity he has so many injuries, as I really think there is a player in there somewhere. If he had actually stayed fit for the last two years, I imagine we wouldn't have needed Fernando & possibly he would have been playing this American tour as a centre back. Possibly he still has time to learn that job but it's more difficult seeing as he has effectively just missed two years of football. Probably needs to learn midfield first.

A pity, as he could have been an ideal player for us, but good luck to him.

Rodwell has it in his locker if he can stay fit, which is the big problem, as we all know. We did see a glimpse of the Rodwell we all hoped we would get in the game against Norwich at the end of the 2012/13 season. I was really hoping he would get an extended run last season but he was either out of favour or injured.

Good luck to the lad, I hope he stays fit and carves a good career as I do think he has what it tales to play at the very top level.

hopefully he will manage to stay injury free and avoid being on his last chance .

I always thought he had great potential but his injury record has prevented us from ever knowing if he would be good enough at our level.

If the £10m fee is true, then that is great business for us (although I imagine there are some conditions relating to the number of games he plays for them).

Good luck to him. I hope he can stay injury-free long enough to fulfil his potential.

If that number is above 5, we're screwed.

As many have said, the kid has talent to be really good if he can stay fit. Not "complete shite" some made him out to be. Having said that, if we only made 2m loss on him then it has got to be considered fantastic piece of business.

Good luck Jack! but not when you play against us.

ps. a bet on sunderland beating us 1-0 with rodwell scoring the winner is surely worth a punt. (unless he is injured again of course)

Second this. As an aside, what an unlucky bloke! must be heartbreaking, every time you recover and build yourself up again only to be knocked down again, he deserves a bit of luck. It will be interesting to see how he turns out as a player.

Good luck Rodders fella.

Great business from us selling Rodders, I mean even though I liked Rodwell as a player... that hamstring is a ticking time bomb.

£10 million is a great deal for us and if he stays fit, could be good for them... it's a big if though.

I wish Jack all the best though. I hope things work out for him.

A bit disappointing things did not work out for him as I had high hopes for him when he joined us. Good luck to the lad.
