They've got a spare 14 mil, is this why we were so scared to play him in the friendlies?

Always felt he was on the edge of being something special so I'm disappointed to see him go without one last crack, but it's hard to turn down decent money for him with his injury record

Could explain why he hasn't been used in the last few friendlies after playing in the first couple.
Supposedly he was at Sunderland's training ground today

Edit: Sky says a 5 year contract agreed and the clubs have agreed

Best for us best for him. His injury record was shocking and there was no realistic prospect of him playing very many games at all. Guidetti next then once Mangala's on board Rekik will be loaned back. I'm afraid Richards will be sold too. Soriano has to keep control of the wage bill and there's no room for passengers.

Best of luck to him, in fairness he deserves a bit of good luck.

Ignoring the inuries for a second, I've never actually thought he was anything special. Not sure why we signed him tbh. Although I guess like any half-decent young English player he was massively hyped up.

Aye without question this will happen. Single goal to nil at their place.......again.

Good luck to the lad if he somehow passes his medical.

The Times say he had a very extensive medical and may have further tests tomorrow because of injury issues. Maybe that refers to his previous medical history. Fingers crossed.

Apparently the examining doctor asked him to cough and his leg fell off. Fee down to 5mil

It will be good to build up a bit of an FFP-compliant kitty for January by selling these fringe players, in case of emergencies. If that means we then have to call on Cole, Denayer etc occasionally to cover in the meantime, that's all to the good.

On Rodwell specifically, I always hoped he would come good, but in all honesty he didn't give me much encouragement. Yes, he was injured, yes he was overlooked sometimes and never had a run, but I can remember him having one good game against Norwich at home, who we usually slaughter and when no one else turned up, a couple if decent ones and a few stinkers (Watford being the smelliest). Sinclair has done almost as much. Good luck Jack, but you're not for us.

Mistake. I'd much prefer it to be a loan so we can benefit from all the medical resources we've chucked his way.

He's a great player and I'd much rather see him on the bench than Garcia.

10m is great business all things considered.

There was a league cup game last season where he went missing, lescott ended up humping everything long because him and Garcia didn't show for the ball. I think it could of been his last start and I was terribly disspointed with his effort and performance.

He had a few howlers in games at the start that undone all his good work in those games and he never recovered, pity really.

A bag of cash, a premier league medal(despite only playing 100mns!) and a league cup medal he will happy with his lot from us!

Best of luck Jack!
