I went to watch Hartlepool vs Middlesbrough pre-season friendly tonight as I am working in the area. That put it all in perspective. Boro had all the possession but were slow and laborious in front if goal. Pools had Marlon Harewood on his Jen up front, no midfield and no defence, and a dodgy keeper. A long hard season for them.

It finished two-nil to Boro, the floodlights failed at half-time and the last few minutes were played in semi-darkness. Different world.
