blues2win wrote:Hummels is on a long term contract. Why should his Club sell him at all still less for a piddling 16 million? They have a stable financial position. Luiz transfer has bumped up drastically prices for quality centre backs. Plus like every other German player if he goes he probably wants to go to Bayern.

i doubt he wants to go back as he's exploded once Bayern let him leave. much like Pogba after he left United.

Fair enough but why would the Club sell him for 16 million quid when he's contracted to them till 2017? I think this is really bad journalism; one paper says 16 million and everyone copies them.

So the rags get the only cb in the modern age to actually be slower than Steve Bruce (apart from Rekik).

Van Gneck must be planning a seriously deep sitting defence if they sign that cunt. If not, both will get the biggest shock since Sven's team went to Stamford Bridge..

He can't be that slow playing in the Dortmund and German team. If I'm not mistaken, don't Dortmund play the high line, similar to us?

If I was offered 2 players and could only take one of Mangala or Hummels, I know which one i'd be taking and he's not French.

He is oil-tanker slow, Beefy. He got skinned a dozen times in the final & needed Boateng to save his arse repeatedly. A very fine defender in every other regard, but needs to be partnered by a pacey, athletic defender or protected by his midfield to not be embarassed on the highest stage.

Objection, Vertonghen is way slower than Rekik. And Barcelona are allegedly interested. Imagine Pique & Vertonghen playing their high line & try not to piss yourself.

You're not being offered Hummels and I don't think he'll go anywhere at less than the Luiz price. Would you still take him? Personally I think he'll stay put.

Looks like Mangala's arrival video has been leaked before the official announcement

You beat me to it. I don't know what the Club is playing at. This seems very definitive and yet the Club deny he's joined. Not much doubt now Portuguese Stock Exchange requirements or no. I saw somewhere he would join up with the squad when they get back from the US ie Monday week.

The Club have removed the video! I don't know what 's going on but that was an official Club video meant to introduce Mangala as a Man City player complete with quotes from the player saying he was coming to win lots of Cups blah blah blah.

It means there's something on Porto's end that needs attention before we can confirm anything. Maybe the stock market thing, maybe something third party related, whatever.

Theatre.

If fans panic re signings, it matters to the fans but it doesn't matter one tiny little flyshit to the club. In fact it's probably dead funny to them.

It's all creating interest. They know what's happening & that's all that matters.
