Mangala at last?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Thought they had videos made of him doing his first interview going on about the move, was that not about two weeks ago? Now he is stalling?

That may be true but seems unlikely. Why would he agree to take a medical if he was stalling? Why would he give interviews to the Club talking about why he was joining the Club? Why has the Porto website dropped him from their list of defenders? I suspect this is about third Party issues but obviously I could be wrong.

South Stand Balti wrote:According to the MEN last week, the "player is still stalling over the deal" and MP said he would like an addition or two even if he has to wait until the last day of the transfer window. Not sure how reliable this speculation is but I wish we could get a credible update.

addition or two of what?

that seems odd if he already came for the medical, did the interview, etc. if he had not already agreed to sign for what was offered.

Am I alone in thinking this is going pear shaped. Yes, he is the man the club have identified whom they think is the best fit. But this has been going on for some time. Am sure we have a back up plan, this next week might just see us exercise it or we may run the risk of either losing out on our preferred targets or end up with a panic buy

Also worth bearing in mind that Fernando's transfer was delayed for weeks. He came back from holiday ready to sign then he returned to Brazil because of continuing problems with the deal. These third Party issues can be balls achingly complicated.

An addition or two of players by the last day of the transfer window. It just made me think the Mangala deal may not be that close. Yes, I agree it does nt fit in with him having a medical etc but that was a little while ago.

He's back from holiday today/ tomorrow and the Club are back from the US tour. I think things will come to a head pretty rapidly in the coming week one way or another. There's been zero talk of another Club being in for him. As I said Porto have removed him from the list of defenders on their website. Everything points to him being a a city player very soon.

Just to panic everyone Radio Marca saying Barca will unveil a new CB on Thursday which will surprise some. Marquinhos was their top target but PSG playing hardball. I'm guessing Vermaelen but maybe Hummels? Goal say City expecting Mangala to be sealed tomorrow or at least very soon. O Jogo saying no pressure to replace Mangala ie he's gone.

Prob Vermaelen. Although Barca has Pique and just sent a ludicrous sum on Mathieu. Plus they have Bartra as back up and Mascherano plays there. Dunno why they'd buy another CB..

Marca is the Madrid mouthpiece tho, right. Maybe they are just stirring up shit. Or maybe they finally want to bin Busquets and let Mascherano play his best position after being one of the top 3 players in the WC?

Regardless, and slightly unrelated...i've learned to hate Barca over the last 2 seasons. I hate they way they conduct themselves, their arrogance and their overall cunty bollocks diving/cheating bullshit. And since i like Anchovie, i'll root for them vs Barca during this time as i have no real affinity for anyone in La Liga.

Radio Marca saying Barca want Boateng. He had a good World Cup but would Bayern let him go?

Maybe. They have Badstuber coming back and he could partner Dante or Javi Martinez.
