Why does the author say "if" City were to have completed a deal? The implication being we won't?
Thought it was oddly worded. Is it translated however which might account for that simple fact.
Cheers

What, the Mats Hummels who has just won the WC with Germany, proved himself at all levels and is reported as half the price of the guy we're chasing, whilst only 2 years older?
If the Rags get him for that price then I'll be astonished. Saying that, I'm sure the media understate the price of players going to the Rags and inflate all those coming to us.

The article was published last September so I'm assuming he's referring to last summer's transfer window.

This can only be coming from the rag obsessed media and their deluded fans............
Burtons arse window etc........... if a) he goes there at all, or to cover myself, b) he goes there for less than £34m - just utter bollocks (of course IMO)
He is their likely next captain and if he goes anywhere it will be a top team

blues2win wrote:Hummels is on a long term contract. Why should his Club sell him at all still less for a piddling 16 million? They have a stable financial position. Luiz transfer has bumped up drastically prices for quality centre backs. Plus like every other German player if he goes he probably wants to go to Bayern.

Looks like Klopp has slammed the door shut on that one.
"Mats joining Manchester United? For €20 million (£16m)? For such little money you can forget that immediately!"
