Mangala at last?

Duncan Styles of the Sunday Times and Di Marzio both tweeting he's agreed to sign. Medical very soon says the latter.

Didn't he say he wanted to go to Chelsea?

If he does come to us, he'll have to prove himself and won't get the instant worship that he'll probably crave.

Nah Beefy he's been an admirer of City since he was a boy! Looks good on U tube. Very strong quick comfortable on the ball and a good jump on him. There again they all look good on U tube.

Sorry I should have said Duncan Castles of the Sunday Times. I think it's a very credible story. There were a lot of stories that we were just waiting for his agreement post World Cup having tied things up with Porto. All eyes on Manchester airport over the next few days.

DiMarzio also confirms this so it looks credible.

After all this pursuit & paying that fee he better not be shite.

Fee is 40 million euros or 31.8 million pounds it seems. Luiz cost 50 million pounds didn't he? Txiki has been after for him for two transfer windows. I'm really looking forward to seeing him. At least give him till his first half time lads!

At last we look like we have nailed down a centre back but the fees being mentioned should be buying players of Thiago Silva/Mats Hummels quality.Admittedly I have only seen him play a few times but I can't say I've been overly impressed with him. That said the club have targeted him for some time now so must have great faith in his ability.

I heard the deal was agreed earlier today and it'll be announced shortly. Benatia seemed more likely than Mangala; but he is an excellent prospect. I'd be pleased with either player.

as others have said weeks prior...Benatia is fucking geriatric in comparison. If yr gonna pay 30M there'd better be some fucking upside or potential resale value in 3-5 years if things go tits up.

If the spanish geezers and the Count want him then i'm 1000% fine with getting some Quim all over ourselves.

cheers

this lad's a lefty isn't he?
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

The second leg against Sevilla aside I was very impressed, pace, strength, decent on the ball, a good threat at set pieces, a bit raw and a bit rash with it but that can be ironed out especially as he'll now be learning from one of the best.

Not sure he said anything at all to be honest. Not since January.

It was just before the WC started where he didn't specifically say anything against us but stated that the Chelsea would be his preferred club because they were based in London. You could take that as a swipe at Manchester as a whole but nothing about City.

On another note, this is one of those where FFP could really hurt if another club came in for him. With the restrictions in place then any club with the money could outbid us if they so desired, leaving us in a position where we could only go to a certain amount. Nothing spectacular but a consideration all the same.

PS. And on another note, 32 mil for him is another ridiculous price.

Not sure he was ever quoted. I suspect it was something he said well in the past 'I would like to play for Chelsea' or something. Trawled up and sent round the world as another City snub story.

He was quoted by BeIN sport back in May : "City or Chelsea? Chelsea because it is London."

No idea what way the question was worded. Not that it matters anyway, if he joins City and performs then who gives a flying what he may of may not have said?
