Well - I will accept being a bit 'knee-jerk' - and probably it was 'bad taste.

But there are a limited number of phrases that are immediately associated to an event / person etc - and this is one. This phrase links straight to perhaps the most harrowing example of just how base people can behave to others - so IMO simply could/should not be used n a casual manner in any circumstance

I agree and certainly wasn't trying to make excuses for him.

In what way is this politics? It's a stupid thing football coach said on live telly. If this was about Robbie Savage you wouldn't have objections. I just wanted some perspective because I struggled to put this into perspective.

Haha. I do enjoy a good debate in the FNTF and I can have people disagree with me without exploding with rage. I can, however, understand why you're reluctant to (re)allow political discussion, bearing in mind the depths plumbed by some posters in recent years when discussing much less emotive issues.

Spot on ADVT, people turned into maniacs overnight when polotics was allowed and serious threats were also made. It was all rather silly, prefer to keep it well away, feel sorry for chinners though :-D

I didn't see the context (haven't watched the video either), I know very little about Finland (which is my fault really) and it's a highly emotive subject. So I haven't voted.

Here's all you need to know, mate:
Watch on youtube.com

In all honesty, it didn't seem like that big of a deal to me. I use that line as a reference every now and then, but also joke about Gulag, Pol Pot and the Gang of Four. I probably wouldn't when on national TV, though ...
