I'm sure I've posted a couple of articles about him, including very recently, but when I search I cant find a damn thing.

Well as per today's bollox it looks like he is becoming our 3rd summer signing. The last word we had (from his club) was he would be immediately loaned out but I cant see any sense in that. One and a half million.

We will see what develops.

Why not? It works quite well for Chelsea, helping them meet the FFP bollox. Park them somewhere where they will get some time on the pitch;

- if they're any good, sell them on for a profit
- if not, cut them loose for a marginal deficit
- if they're absolutely amazing, give them a chance at City

de Bruyne netted Chelsea north of 10m. When was the last time we made 10m NET on a player? SWP? Jesus.

One for the future, certainly believed to be getting the eyes from the Argentinian set up (read he was in the frame to get picked this WC), so if nothing else a sensible investment at 1.5 million.

Hopefully he goes out on loan and comes back ready to play for us next season though, I like having argies in our squad!

I'm not normally one to squash creativity but you really need to consider that yr sense of humour is quite corny.

Cheers

With a username like yours I should have assumed that a greener shade of humour would avoid you.

I don't get this transfer. Does anyone know anything about this dude? Judging purely by interweb search it seems he is another defensive midfielder. Seems to have broken through in Argentine league quite early but doesn't have full cap (no easy task for Argentina, mind) so does he even qualify for work permit?

Got an Italian Passport so no need for a work permit.Couldn't tell you anymore about him, other than we've been watching him for a while!

Indeed, has an Italian passport.

From what I can gather, he seems to be able to play anywhere centre mid ish, either as a full blown def mid, an all round centre mid or an attacking mid.

Last season, according to reports, the team has struggled badly, finishing near the bottom & he has not been that impressive, (they have had a kind of City thing going on in recent times, changing managers etc, including Diego Simeone). But according to different sources he seems to have been scoring one or two goals which dried up when we signed him (& were replaced by yellow cards). According to some, he lacked inspiration once City came in.

Some rate him highly, others are more 'wait & see' but I haven't read anyone say 'crap' apart from an alleged report by a rag.

Word is he's fast, hard working etc, what impresses me from the bits I've looked up is that he has showed an occasional ability to make late runs from deep & score in the 6 yard box ala Colin Bell Brian Robson; something City midfielders basically just don't do. If they encourage that side of his game rather than just dm, then it's a rare ability. Looks more athletic than our usual midfield players.

Latest rumours from over there suggest he's going straight to Villareal on loan rather than our squad. Don't know the reliability.
