Argentinian paper OLE says we're taking up our option for 2.5 million dollars on Zuculini who's a midfielder. This bears out other reports. I saw one report that he might be loaned out. Any good?

I think we got agreement to an option which we're now exercising. Don't know whether we dithered about taking it up but apparently we've given it the green light now.

His team has apparently struggled this season & word has it he hasn't exactly been pulling up trees, but a kid is unlikely to in a struggling team.

A poster called Shroom on page 19 of the BM thread gives a very encouraging report of his last performance. He seems to have been played very defensively and this time had the shackles taken off and really impressed. He could probably do with a loan with a better side to see how he comes on.

Looking at various Youtube vids etc from past seasons, I found it quite surprising how he was getting into the box from his starting position. Sometimes he seemed to be playing further forward tbf, but on occasions, he was definitely coming from a deep mid position & somehow getting into the 6 yard box on the end of crosses etc like Colin Bell used to do.

You don't see many players do that, even in the modern game.

I thought this was all done in the winter but we've all forgotten about it since?

Some confusion over dates, and still about 'sources' but this is the article. Cant understand why you would immediately loan someone without seeing them, but we will see if there is anything in this.

After a few doubts, Manchester City have decided to take Bruno Zuculini. From the defender's 'inner circle' they assure Ole that the English club will make use of their first option on the player for 2.5 million dollars, and that this will happen on 15th August. According to academy sources the transfer of the player will be closed in the next week, with the player being loan to another English club. In the immediate future Zucu will present himslef fopr training on Monday, but at some point will say farewell to the academy.

Squad restrictions ? And to get him up to pace for the Prem ? If he's not good enough for City, but does ok, can be sold on at a profit.

I'd be very surprised if we don't have a look at him first though.

we're not going to get much of a chance to look at him if he transfers 15 august - seems awfully late for a deal that's going to be agreed 2 months prior right?

I got the impression the 2 sources conflicted. The 'Academy' says anytime
