Roberto Mancini has been sacked by Galatasaray after one season at the Turkish side (some reports suggest that he has resigned) ... either way he is out (and available) ...
I guess if Italy doesn't do well in the World Cup, he could be their next national manager post World Cup.

Would have thought he's too much of a pain in the arse for all the suits to deal with, to be a national team manager.
Italy somewhere seems a fair possibility.
I would like to see him at a mid level Prem club, to see what he can actually do with 'normal' level players & if he can impose a style the way Martinez & Pinocchio have done at Everton Southampton for example. Would be really interesting to see if he can succeed at that level over here, & then of course move higher again as a result.

Italy is the most likely destination. But it wouldnt be a surpise to see him back in England at some stage.
Alwaysthought going to Galatasary wasnt right for him, then again there is the shillings to consider.

West Brom is available ... and Spurs too.

Lazio being mentioned as a possible destination, which might be a good match.

I'm sure it's got to be Lazio.
He just committed himself to Galatasaray a few days ago...which means Lazio probably came in for him afterwards..he asked to talk to them..and Boom! They sack him out of frustration. Just a hunch.

Lots of talk linking him to the Southampton job, which means little. Will be interesting to see where he goes.
Confirmed he left Gala by mutual consent.

The thing about the Southampton job is if they keep their players and add a little quality it'd be a job he could do. But I think they'll get their best players cherry-picked by those bastions of doing things the right way, the rags and the dippers.

He did a decent job at Galatasaray. Took over when they were in the bottom five of the League after half a dozen games and had just 1-6 at home to Real Madrid in CL.
They finished runners-up in the League, won the Turkish Cup and qualified out of a CL Group with Real, Juventus and Copenhagen in it before losing to Chelsea in last 16.
I would be very surprised if he went to Southampton. Too small a job for him, their best players are going to be sold. He would want to go to a club with CL ambitions in whichever country. Inter Milan or Lazio, both jobs he has done previously are possibilities.

Got to give it Bobby Manc, he sure knows how to get a pay cheque. Definately deserves it though, achieving what he did from the starting position.
I think he's proved that he's got the knack of sorting teams out, getting them organised and moving onto better things. He's done it wherever he's been and will surely be eyeing another job with the chance of progressing further. I can't see him going for a lower table side, he knows he's got to have some money/talent to work with to make it a relative success, he'll be after one of the clubs just in or outside their respective leagues CL spots, knowing he's got a shot to get them there.
Even though I didn't like some of his antics/tactics etc, I still love the bloke for what he did with us and wish him all the best in his next appointment.

After being treated to very entertaining, attacking football, I can't imagine Southampton fans would be keen for Mancini's style.

Winning 6-1 at old trafford would be terrible for them. tony pulis he is definitely not.
Good luck to Bob in his next appointment.

"Mancini's style" One of only five managers to manage a side which scored more than 90 goals in a Premier League season "Mancini's style"

Perhaps, but considering they don't seem to have the most harmonious of locker rooms I don't think they need Mancini in there as well. What a big fuck you that would be to Adebayor, like "remember that guy you didn't get along with in City... yeah... uhm..."

Effective yes. But the first two seasons especially the first, were at times mind numbingly boring.
Then something clicked and we started to play brilliantly for a while.
I still remember the 0-0 at home to Rags in his first full season where he put ten men behind the ball in our own half. Never have I left a derby game so angry and disappointed as that one.
Mancini is great at building a spine to a side and steadying the ship so to speak but Southampton don't need that. They already have a solid team with plenty of good young players coming through, they should be looking for a manager who really will embrace their attacking philosophy, not put the breaks on it.
